Time for another robot extravaganza!
I went to my local geek store to trade some transformers that I no longer wanted to get some sweet stuff.
The only official Transformers here is Generations Cybertronian Cliffjumper in anticipation to get the Studio Series version. I also got Unique Toys Dragoon and Fancy Cell Toys FCT-X01 Transportation Captain. The last two being non-official third party figures.
Dragoon is absolutely fantastic. Posability is perfect, his look is phenomenal, and he feel solid in hand. This interpretation of The Last Knight Megatron is truly on masterpiece level.
His transformation is pretty hard and look impossible at first glance. But once I gave up trying to figure out the unclear instruction and let my instincts take over, the transformation went smoothly. It still took me around an hour to figure it out and to properly do it. The result is a fantastic spaceship that was completely hidden in bot mode!
This Megatron was totally worth the 220$CAN plus taxes. At least I gave G1 Transformers to get 220$CAN in store credit Gamestop style and all I had to do was to pay the taxes.
This Megatron is truly a work of art. I wonder if Hasbro/Takara will beat it with their official MPM TLK Megatron if they ever make one?
Next trade was for FTC-X01, the (first ever?) non-official "masterpiece" Astrotrain.
For it I gave MP Exhaust and Arms Micron Swerve. No cash needed. This Astrotrain is a bit small to truly be a "masterpiece", but it's pretty damn close to the cartoon model. I got it used and the only thing missing is an energon cube and the box.
This bot is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. However, his plastics feel pretty cheap. Like a cheap knock-off. It's also very, VERY fragile. Transforming him require you to be carful as if handling a glass flower. I didn't paid attention and this tiny and crucial tab on this panel broke off. Took me the whole weekend to glue it back in place solidly. I also had to file the slot so the tab slide more easily after thickening it with glue.
Regardless of fragility, this "MP" Astrotrain transform very easy. More easy than the recent Siege leader!
I could use the missiles on the shutter and the satellite too, but I didnt felt like it.
The train is the BEST one so far compared to the official one. If Takara would make an official MP Astrotrain, they could be inspired with this one to make it right. As long that the fragility issues are fixed.
Seriously, if you ever get yourself this EXTREMELY RARE 3P figure, pay close attention to the chimney pannels.

Overall, I think I made some great trades this weekend!
looks a good toy as well, I'd probably use this in my generations figures instead of hasbros past Astrotrains.
