Still unsure about his head, and I will need my paints for the gold and silver parts(so won't be finished until September, really..).

So far, this is what I've done:

Shoulder pieces.

Pelvic area, knees and shins.

I believe I'm done with him. For now.

Its amazing how a few small paint apps can really transform a figure. While the hell Hasbro couldn't do that in the first place is beyond me.

I'll take it as a compliment, and say thanks..! Image
Still going to add the gold bits (rims, inside hood, joints, door handles), then I think I'll leave him be.

I know, it's quite pathetic.

I agree; those paint apps really make a difference.

BTW, do the headlights look like they're removable, as in you can access the underside and push out the pegs? Those headlights would really look awesome with an undercoat of silver and some clear orange for indicator lights.

Looking forward to seeing more.

I'll have to check! That is what the stickers seem to do, but covering it, so underside would be nice.

He's in the box now, as I'm moving next Sunday and have loads of thesis work to do this week. Away from the eyes and all that. :P

Thanks for the comments and suggestions!

EDIT: I've had a quick look, and it seems possible. However, it is very very tiny, and I'm a little worried about breaking them, so I may have to skip that stage. I'll see what I feel like when I get round to it.

I don't really feel qualified to comment on this since I haven't yet opened my Knockout so I haven't really paid a great deal of attention to exactly how he should look. That said, it looks like you've done a fairly tidy job, although I think I saw a slip on his right hip...

According to this picture:

those black pelvic parts have a very clearly defined edge, which yours don't have. To make it easy you could take some artistic liberty and fill in the whole recessed area. It'll add some nice definition.

Before anyone flames me for being harsh, Va'al asked me to drop by with my opinions!

Yep, the hips were annoying as I don't have tools fine enough. I'll be grabbing my smaller tips back from Italy (or buy new ones) in August, so I'll tidy up then!

Thanks! ;)

You have to carefully dremel the pegs out because they're glued in along the pegs. Take small bits at a time till you can push the light out.

Just out of curiosity, how do you push the pegs out with a dremmel? I don't have a rotary tool of any kind, so I wouldn't know.

Remove bits of the pegs a little at a time till you can push it out. Don't just push it out because that probably won't be happening since the glue is fairly sturdy stuff. You can get a decent Dremel for 20$ @ Wal-Mart that has high and low speed settings. Good enough for custom work but you'll need a few extra bits for making ball joint receptacles or cutting specialized areas, ect. It's a good tool to have once you start getting into customizing and necessary once you hit physical mods.

Sounds like a good idea for me to get a dremel one of these days. I'm still currently only into very light repaints and detailing, but I do plan on attempting to get the headlight pegs out on my other figs (bayverse Swindle is just begging for a coat of Ferarri Red and some detailing on his headlights).

First post update!

I believe I've done what I wanted to do. I will go back over the knees eventually.
