Other than video games I tend to be toys first then maybe dip my toes into the media.

I was a Digimon cartoon baby, never watched the Pokémons. If you were to try getting into the series, start from the start, avoid the first movie (unless watching it in its Japanese original short films instead), and keep in mind that after Adventure and Adventure 02, the story almost reboots. Current movies in the Adventure Tri. series follow on from after 02, with cast of first series.

That's a nice looking 'mon. I bet he feels real good with all that metal.
I have a little crate of Digimon toys from the way back stoed down in the collect-o-dungeon. Always appreciated the way the toys "digivolved". Kinda makes me want to pull them out and revisit them.

I still think my favorite Digimon is this one though.

I used to watch the cartoon on Sunday mornings while working at the driving range. Wasn't much "work", so there was more Digimon than anything :lol:

It's a nicely hefty figure, and a heckuva improvement on the original critter! Wotafa did a nice comparison in Japanese, just a couple of days after I picked up mine (there was literally one review as I bought it, I was that fast to the scene). He's so excited about it too!

I still think my favorite Digimon is this one though.

While Pokemon had the better game, Digimon had the better show. Of course there was a Digimon game called Digimon world but I never had a PS1 so I have never played it. The Pokemon cartoon was the same stuff in every episode - Ash sees a Pokemon, catches or battles it. Gets interrupted by a rival trainer or team rocket. There is maybe another Pokemon battle and then team rocket blasts off the end. Plus Ash always stays 10.

In Digimon the characters actually grow and learn. The plot builds on itself and things change. There are new heroes and villeins and it isn't just the same stuff over and over. I wish that Digimon were more popular but lets face it, Pokemon was much more marketable with it's "Gotta catch em all!" motto, trading card game, gameboy game and toys. Digimon was more about partnership and finding one's unique role but Pokemon is about collecting and competing.

I have fallen out of interest with Pokemon over the years. (Can't say I liked any Digimon seasons after S3 tbh) I think the series just changed too much for me, being there since the beginning. While I still do enjoy the series X and Y was the last gen I played. I'd rather put my energy into other series and hobbies anyways. I'd rather not stick around and get salty.

Pretty much yeah! And Pokémon was already a franchise multimedia empire by the time Digimon had any power to do anything lasting.

I paid for it. :-P

It was a commission! Artists usually open up a pre-convention/event list if they know they'll have a lot of work at the event itself, and I got in before Thought Bubble in September. Jack was swamped with work, so it's only just made it over, but I'm happy to finally have it!

I finished my book (Fahrenheit 451) and now I don't know what to read next. Gotta let that one mull over in my brain first. So many choices so little time.
