We just had some scrambled eggs with a little bacon mixed in with a side of King cake (yeah we're still doing that), no mickey juice (sounds like a euphemism to me) just strong ass coffee.

Iron, going vegetarian isn't bad, but there is some serious "withdrawals" going from the typical meat eating American diet. Once/if you can push through, it feels nice and is very easy to maintain. We were living that lifestyle for quite a while but fell off the wagon because the Mrs needed to up her protein intake and meat is just plain easier. One of the weirdest side effects is how gross raw meat seems after you stop eating it. I'd like to get back to where we were.

Va'al looks at picture and instantly horggle's up that beautiful breakfast.

Y'know, I don't miss any of it. The one thing I tend to get cravings for is Jelly Babies, or just gummy sweets in general. But Jelly Babies in particular. The gelatine in them is what stops me from eating them, and I'm pretty sure it's what also made me like them so much more than any other substitute.

Neither did I and I actually preferred it. In some ways it made meal planning easier but eating at other people's houses way more difficult (family in particular).

See, I have that conversation with a lot of people: don't think about my choices, they're mine, and I will sort myself out around them. It's nice if we can all eat together, but I'm just going to eat bread and veggie sides, that's ok too - we're still at the same table!

Obviously, if we're going out for a meal I'd rather not go to a steakhouse or grill or fish place, but I can always find something for myself without being a bother to the others.


(of course, this doesn't always work with an Italian family, but to their credit, they have varied what they eat a lot more since I moved back in the country, and there's a lot more veg going round)

I do love my veggies. I'll heap up as much of them as anything else on my plate. Even more since I stated cutting waaaaay back on carbs.

At least breakfast brunch lunch afternoon meal was good.

I could barely quit carbs for two weeks, once upon a time!

Most breakfasts here center around coffee, however - everything else is a bonus.

Same thing with salt. I'm not kidding. Check out a lot of snacks, condiments, canned goods and frozen food. No wonder lots of ppl have high blood pressure. I gave myself a heart palp once because I didn't drink enough water and I was eating tons of salty foods. I was okay once I realized what I was doing but it freaked me out.

True! Though the hidden sugars are what kick you in the teeth (literally, and if you're trying to look after what you eat). Salt can be negotiated in other ways.

I started a new programme today with my running buddy, and I'm not sure we can feel our legs, or each other's..

If you overdo it with salt drinking lots of water and exercising can help flush it out. Though I really wouldn't make too much salt a habit. I like to keep my bloodpressure as close to ideal so that stress won't make it rise to too much.

I have been getting out more to combat my anxiety and I walked over 5 miles on Saturday. I can feel my leg muscles growing. They are pretty darn stiff. Had lots of success though!
