I have been a TF fan since 84, I was 13 and the TF movies are NOT the greatest movies ever.. That is my opinion, you have yours and everyone else has theirs. None of them are right either.

Well, they are all right, just for different reasons. They are most certainly neither wrong nor misconceptions. Sly is just being Sly right now.

I just got back from seeing Days of Future Past. I must say, it was very good. It was on par with The Winter Soldier, but wasn't better. As for the X franchise, I'd say it was as good as First Class, but not better. The scene after the credits was OK, you'd have to know the reference to get it. Most people in the theater with me didn't get it. It was Apocalypse, building a pyramid, as the 4 Horsemen looked on and the natives worshiped him.

I thought that's what the after credits was. But I wasn't sure.

I saw DOFP today and liked it as much as Captain America 2. I still, however like TASM2 more than both of them. There were great scenes here and there in TWS and DOFP, but I thought just about every scene was great in TASM2.

Huh. Normally I agree with you when it comes to movies, but I have to completely disagree with you on TASM2. It was, without a doubt, one of the worst comic book films I've ever seen. As movies go, in general, I've seen far worse, but I still didn't like it at all.

I certainly won't be adding it to my video collection when it comes to home video.

Several times, actually. (On TV and home video, mainly growing up.) It was a slice of terrible, no doubt. Still doesn't change the fact I don't like TASM2. I did say one of the comic book films. lol

As much as I liked the winter soldier, x-men was definitely my favorite movie so far this summer. The scene in the plane? Oh man. Intense and emotionally gripping.

So does DoFP erase The Last Stand or just simply sets the story on an alternate timeline going forward?

As for TASM2, it wasn't bad, but not better than TWS or DoFP. Just my opinion though. So far it's summer's #3.

Couldn't sit through STEEL. Catwoman was just awful. Like I said, one of the worst. Not the worst. One of. I love how people focus on just one piece of what I said. lol

The easiest way I can say it without spoiling or going too indepth and therefore wordy, is that it was over the top silliness trying it's hardest to be a cartoon in live action. The first film was on another level compared to this one. It's like the movies are in two different worlds. It was a real shame.

That's why I liked it. I looked at it as "artsy" in its own way. But still managed to pull off real life-ish consequences; something DOFP didn't have, at all.

I liked TASM2 as a sequel, but it was kinda short on action, and Electro wasn't really that threatening. The 2 fights they had were short and anticlimactic. There was more focus on Gwen dying as well as Harry becoming the Goblin. And of course, Rhino got tacked on there. It was basically made as a setup movie for TASM3 (which I expect to be BAD ASS) as well as a most likely Sinister Six movie.

And STEEL?

At least Halle Berry looked good in leather...

Saw DOFP today ... I don't know if I'd call it the best, none of the X-Men movies have been "awesome" and I'm an avid reader of the books.

It was good, but there was something about it that just sat wrong with me, and it wasn't the knowledge that Scott ImABigDouchebag Summers is alive again.

Bring on Guardians!

I also thought that, it just seemed to miss that "comic-feel" that these movies are supposed to have, I guess. :-? :???: I don't know...

    Good to know I'm not the only 1 who thinks that. I thought that even with the comics and 90s cartoon.

Also, would this be an acceptable viewing order, if I were to go by order of events in the films:

First Class
X-Men Origins: Wolverine
X-Men
X-Men 2
Days of Future Past
Last Stand
The Wolverine

Bring on Guardians!

Absolutely!

Most of us have already seen it, but here's the 2nd full trailer:

Honestly, the end was kind of a letdown. As with some other comic book movies, the villain (in this case the Silver Samurai) was totally butchered when it comes to source material. Basically, it was an old guy in a mech suit. Reminded me of the Iron Monger from the 1st Iron Man, actually. I wasn't impressed at all. Never even bought the DVD when it came out.

To be honest you should re-watch the first couple of X-men movies.
Spoilers below
This movie basically wipes X3 from existence, changes a few things in the history and sets up Age of Apocalypse (post credit scene). It brings back Rogue, Jean Grey and Cyclops too. Technically the first two x movies could have still happened and some aspects of the wolverine (minus his dreams of killing Jean since now that does not happen). It also ties first class to the first Xmen series too with a little more cohesion. I am interested in seeing how Mysteque and magneto get re acquainted after the events of 73 as well.

The scene with quicksilver is fantastic IMHO.. I have seen the movie twice in the span of 12 hours and both shows erupted at the scene.

There is no reason to assume that this movie,DOFP, "basically" or completely wipes X3 from existence/continuity,.Obviously somethings changed, but that does not mean that the same events unfolded the same a very similar way.

And that includes all the deaths still happening.Jean,Scott and Pro-X may still have died...........and returned as Pro-X and Jean have already done.Jean died in X-2 and returned in X-3, Pro-X died in X3 and returned by "the Wolverine", althou not explained.

What do you mean by this film bringing back Rogue? She never died or left. She was back at the school at the end of X3.
