I'm just ribbing ya cause you're my bro.

You, half my fraternity brothers, and my entire engineering class
Don't sweat it, you gots to learn to crawl before you can bawl. I still love Pina Coladas; I used to drink cranberry and vodka but you know

I'm just having an end of the summer fling with hard sodas. It's like pop music, fun for a while then you move on.

Aside from beer and whiskey I sometimes enjoy hard ciders. That is as sweet as I can get. I never liked wine at all, it tastes like gross candy to me.

I do love me some wine. I'm a low budget part time wine snob.

Here is the deal with wine. Wine is all about food pairings. A good pairing can take an OK bottle and turn it into a great bottle. I've had some pretty amazing pairings over the years.

We got any other wine drinkers here before I bore you all to sleep? I-)

My Dad actually used to make wine. We have a ton of it sitting around in those massive drums, sealed off and aging

Really?!? Georgia right? Muscadine? If not what grape/fruit?

Hit your boy up when that hits the bottling stage.

He made Grape, was his favorite to make. We had a massive bin to mash them all up in (I helped him out).

I'll gladly hit you up when it's ready

I had some good wine a couple nights ago with the spicy pasta sauce I made.

Also, I really needed some drinking to finish watching Combiner Wars, those last 2 episodes were dreadful. I hate giant mishmash cloud monster villains, they never work (and hence why the ending of Akira also dissapointed me, move was great up until that point though). For that I drank some Belgium Moon Beer. It was ok.

Ah nothing like a nice red wine and red sauce ;)^ My fav is a heavy bodied cab with medium rare steak off the grill. We made some chicken and spinach pasta the other day with a light ricotta sauce paired with a cheap bottle of chardonnay. =P~

So back to my adventures in hard sodas. So a lot of the grocery stores around here have a make your own six pack option. So this weekend we picked up a few "flavored" beers. Tried a cream stout, a peach lager and sipping on a grapefruit IPA.

If you don't know these are non sweet beers that have just a hint of other flavor. Basically just various beers brewed with other stuff. So far the Abita Peach lager has been my fav. I'm building up a tolerance to regular beer until I like the stuff.

Did the same with wine. I had to learn to crawl before I could toddle.

So you're saying they make a fan mode of the beer?! That's pretty coooo.

Also, Guinness has a Nitro IPA?! I didn't even know I wanted that until now! Curse you iBotta!!

I could use a Rolling Rock. Nice pic haha.

Though I will have to settle for some hot cider, its too stormy for me to want to ride the bus to the store. I am up North and we are getting bombarded by wind and rain. The lights may not stay on but, I am content with reading books if it does not last too long.

Sounds a bit like a twist on a whisky sour and pretty good. I'd give it a shot, but you had me at whisky ;)^

Holy Necrothread Batman!

So I'm trying Kraken black spiced rum, and it's delicious...but it's got a bit of a kick. Not sure you're supposed to drink it neat.

If you're not drinking spirits neat your either doing it wrong or you've bought cheap swill [-(

Not much of a rum guy myself, especially spiced rum. I do always admire the Kraken bottle though.

Whisky is my poison of choice and if you really want put a fine point on it, Scotch whisky.

The Mrs and I have been running down the gin rabbit hole as of late. She's becoming a bit of a ginthusiast. I bought a bottle of The Botanist the other day because it was from the same place my favorite whisky comes from, Islay Island. Very tasty and smooth ;)^

Yay my drinky thread is back

Mmm.... spiced rum. Kraken is quite yummy but not my rum of choice. Back on page 1 I shared my favorite :x

I've gone through a couple bottles of it this holiday season lol. I usually mix with Dr Pepper 8-)
