Well we've less than two weeks now before the new series kicks in, March the 31st. I've been on the Dr Who website to check the news, seems the Dalek's are going to make another return as well :D

Seems the new girl gets to snog the Dr in the first episode as well, little tart

Look forward to seeing the Judoon in action.....I wished they were the Sontarans in the end. :/

Shame that the Ice Warriors and Zygons ain't returning yet, but one of Troughton classic monsters is coming back....I wonder whom?

Saturday........bring it! :P

High Command wrote:I know Susan starred in one of the 8th Doctor BBC books. I forget the exact title, but it's one of the ones with "Daleks" in the title. It's set on the future Earth where Susan was abandoned. IIRC she steals the Master's tardis at the end of the story.

Just caught up with this thread.

"Legacy of the Daleks" is the 8th Doctor book featuring Susan.

About the possible fate of Davros talked about a few pages ago, I recommend "War of the Daleks", putting all the Davros stories from Destiny of the Daleks on in a whole different light.

High Command wrote:As you might gather from my current sig, the 2nd doctor is my favourite. Sad that in the BBC archives only (IIRC) three complete stories of his survive intact, with no missing episodes. The Mind Robber is my favourite of those three, but the other two are quite good too. Thay are Tombs of the Cybermen and The Seeds of Death.

Right, full list of complete Troughton stories:
The Tomb of the Cybermen
The Dominators
The Mind Robber
The Seeds of Death
The Krotons
The War Games
and his return stories of Three Doctors, The Five Doctors, and The Two Doctors.

And for the reason I was looking for a Doctor Who thread...

My local PBS station (Channel 21 in Madison, WHA) is going to start showing the new series on April 7th at 10:00 p.m. central. They are showing "Rose" and "The End of the World" that night. Any Wisconsinites seeing this, its the WPT affiliates.

I'm still waiting for my "Mark of the Rani" DVD to show up. DeepDiscount's free shipping option is becoming less worthwhile than it used to be. I also ordered "The Mind Robber," so that should be showing up in about a month or two  I want to order a DVD every paycheck... once the "Mark of the Rani" finally shows up, they'll be here every two weeks. I have this insane idea to buy every DW DVD. Maybe I shouldn't! There were some lemons in the old series.

Speaking of lemons... I watched "Dimensions in Time" for the first time today on Youtube. I had known about it for years but never had a chance to watch it. It really was bad, but kind of fun to watch. Now I can say the scariest thing in a DW story would be those damned creepy floating heads of the 1st and 2nd Doctors! Who the hell "played" those parts? Or were they mannequin heads??!

Damn you UK folk, you get to watch DW Series 3 as it airs! I'll have to get a torrent program or something so I can keep up. (Any recommendations that won't try to take over my computer or bring the FBI to my door for watching foreign TV shows?)

They were specially sculpted mannequin heads.

They had to be mannequins. Hartnell died in 1975, Troughton died in 1987.

That explains it. Someone told me the same thing at another forum. That is just so damn creepy... worse than the Autons!

Yeah, but they had Richard Hurndall play the 1st Doctor in "The Five Doctors." I figured maybe they just found two other guys to use for the headshots... although Hurndall died in 1984. I was hoping it wasn't something creepy, but oh no, now I have to have nightmares about mannequin 1st and 2nd Doctor heads floating around in a blue haze! With eyes that can pierce through your soul and send you to hell |:|

Hmmm, I think I can see where I was mistaken. Last time I checked the 3 stories I mentioned (not counting the 3,5,2 doctors appearances) are the only complete stories available on DVD. I should have spotted the mistake as I own the war games on VHS.

With how rare VHS releases got as DVDs became more popular I can easilly understand. I never was able to find the final run of VHS releases here in the States, and I really want to see The Gunfighters again.

I'll be foregoing all porn and comic downloads as well as turning all IM programs off and limiting web surfing to maximise the bandwidth so I have it by tomorrow night.

No way in hell i'm going to work on Monday without seeing it!

ok loved the first ep of S.3

got a feeling though that the "badwolf"/"torchwood" of this season is going to be something called SAXON

im sure i heard somebody saying the name near the end when the various paitents are getting checked out (trying really hard not to give to much away here) and the wall behind the new assitant had a poster on it reading "VOTE SAXON" it was clearly in shot twice in that scene, directly over her shoulder.

also my current theory about SAXON is that it has something to do with the master.

on a side note if im right, you guys all owe me a drink.
