The man's entitled to his opinion.

Star Trek would have been a lot better if Abrams hadn't gone lens flare happy.

What I come to expect from JJ Abrams is crap on a stick. Seriously nothing he's directed has ever been good.

So! hold on! in that case your saying then that The Force Awakens will be crap?

GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF THE SAND MAN!

have you even SEEN the trailers for the Force Awakens? A million Star Wars fans would prove you wrong on that one!(hopefully some of them are on here too)
You can't say that Episode 7 will be good based on just 2 trailers. Sure, it will make money, because people will want to see the story be told further. But that doesn't mean the movie will be automatically enjoyable for everyone.

Let's hope the film is not another disappointment, surely.

I strongly suspect it won't be a failure, not in the box office, but a failure to the legacy the original trilogy left behind. Another reason is that George Lucas isn't directing it. Abrams, like he said, grew up with the original trilogy, he also stressed the usage of prosthetics and costumes in place of CGI. SO I'm actually excited for this, not because of the blockbuster quality, but because this is being done by people who loved the original trilogy and, I think anyway, want to recapture that magic.

Well The power of people's farts isn't something that I'd be interested in! even if you are. + you sound as if your speaking from experience.....since you know the power of RP's, or that his is even powerful....in the first place.

Saw Fantastic 4. People have been talking much **** about the movie, but I just want to come out and say that it isn't that damn bad. One of Marvel's worst movies? Definitely. But complete ****? Not really. If it were a normal science fiction movie, it could have worked, had they not rushed the last 10 minutes for absolutely no reason at all. They literally could have added another hour to the movie and it would have benefited from it.

The movie literally takes its entire hour and 40 minutes to do what any other superhero movie would have done in a mere 30 minutes. It's like if the entire first Iron Man movie took place in that bunker he was being held in at the beginning of the movie, and the last 10 minutes were him escaping.

It definitely shouldn't be classified as an action movie, but of course that's what people are expecting when they go into it. Do not expect it to be an action movie, and maybe, just maybe you'll not hate it as much?

As far as characters, I actually liked the Thing for the 5 minutes he was in the movie, and I really, REALLY liked Dr. Doom. All 5 minutes he was in the movie. Especially since towards the beginning, he was playing Assassin's Creed Syndicate (which hasn't come out yet) in 2014. He must have been working at Ubisoft before the movie and stole an alpha version of the game, IDFK. All the other characters can eat 4 ****s each.

The only standout scene in the movie is towards the end where Dr. Doom is walking down a hallway, and people's brains are getting blown out the back of their heads. That was amazing. If I could have one super power, that'd be it. I don't usually smile, but I did the entire duration of that scene. But other than that one scene, that one minuscule part, the entire movie was dull. Not completely horrible, just dull. And that's the problem. The movie had excellent concepts, but lackluster execution. It was like they were saving the REAL action for the sequel.

As a Marvel movie, I think a 2 or 3 out of 10 would suffice. But as a straight up science fiction movie (not a sci-fi action movie), I'd honestly give it a 5 or a 6. Just because I was expecting the whole thing to be a complete mess. **** cinematography, **** dialogue, **** CGI (even though there was quite a bit of it), and **** everything else. But it really wasn't. The technical aspects were pretty good, it's just that everything else was just... very unspectacular.

Went and saw Mission Impossible:Rogue Nation today. Enjoyed it! Found it was a nice balance of action and story telling with Simon Pegg making the movie just that little bit more fun.

Also watched X-Men - Days of Future Past:Rogue Cut. Worth the watch.

I hear ya buddy! but before anyone goes off on one...about this movie.....it was FOX that butchered it! & not Trank! Trank had a vision for this movie a year ago....but between then & now.....whatever happened....Fox decided to remove key action scenes(the Thing being airdropped! it's in the trailers but not the film), & they also butchered the last act of the film, the first act is ok & sets up a backstory for the characters, the middle kinda meanders...& when it gets to the One Year Later bit! that's when it turns into a trainwreck.

A quick sidenote....dunno if Trank originally intended on using this or not in the film....but I believe there was supposed to be a setup for a F4/X-Men crossover! but maybe Fox butchered that too....as I don't think there were any post credit or end credit scenes(correct me if i'm wrong on this).

The disappointing news is that for the forseeable future....there's not going to be a Directors Cut/Trank Edition of it appearing on Blu Ray or dvd, but BEYOND that...in the realms of possibly...y'never know! coz look at the Dick Donner Cut...of Superman....YES! it's been a while ago since that was released...but before then...We knew about it....but never knew if we were ever gonna see that version or not! obviously & eventually they DID release it....so let's hope that within our lifetimes....we'll get Tranks vision of Fantastic 4 that we were meant to see.

Rogue Nation is a must see!

Rogue Cut is great.....& most people will know by now...that Days Of Future Past reset the clock on all the dead characters....For the upcoming X-Men Apocalypse film.

Fantastic 4 should have been left alone. There was absolutely no reason for this pathetic attempt at a "reboot." None. I'm glad it bombed.

I did see The Gift, and it was acceptable. Not great, but nor a waste of time. It was paced rather slow, but the end was worth it.

As for Rogue Cut, DoFP is the only X-Men movie I don't have on Blu-ray yet, so I'll probably buy that.

Absolutely. Plus, as a matter of interest and stress to the people keeping track, it was a...wait for it...date. RESET THAT CLOCK!

Going to see it, mostly cause said date wants to see it, but I'm expecting disappointment and boredom.

Wrong thread. But congratulations anyway. These days I couldn't get a date if I painted my junk to look like money.

I doubt a couple of extra scenes will make that much of a difference. It's a good movie already worth owning.

Well, I'm almost finished with buying up the MCU and I already own the normal version of DOFP, so I might get it later.

Trank's version wouldn't have been much better. Dr. Doom was supposed to be an anti-social blogger named Victor Domachev who used "Doom" as his screen name. Fox may have meddled with it, but Trank's version, what I know of it, was not going to be better.

Nah, he dropped that himself when he realized a world full of mutants didn't work with his "world reacting to superheroes" story he wanted.

Rodimus Prime wrote:Fantastic 4 should have been left alone. There was absolutely no reason for this pathetic attempt at a "reboot." None. I'm glad it bombed.

Yes there was! Fox didn't want Marvel to have the movie rights back, so they rushed out a fancy new reboot. And, much like Sony's attempt at this exact thing, it bombed. And hopefully like Sony's attempt, Fox will realize they were giant tools about it this whole time and agree to share the rights.
