How do I get video files off my nexus 7?

It used to be easy. I plugged the tablet into my PC via usb, go into windows explorer and navigate to the file to copy files across. But now the PC has upgraded to Windows 10, and the tablet has upgraded to whatever system that's upgraded to, it will recognise the device, but it shows as empty when I open it. And for the life of me, I can't figure out how to get the files off the device, unless I go through some stupidly long registration process for whatever app it wants me to use, which I don't want to use.

So.... anyone know any advice? Is there a setting stopping it from seeing the info?

First suggestion would be to downgrade one of the devices to a previous version of the OS.

Whenever I need to delete something, I usually go to files, long press the file and press the trash can button on my phone

Tis ok, last night I found some help. Basically, the update to Windows 10 messed up the drivers so just had to update them via device manager on the PC.
