Dr. Stephen Hawking, perhaps the brightest mind of the 20th century after Albert Einstein, and certainly the brightest mind of the 21st century (so far) has died at the age of 76. His genius will be missed and most likely will not be equaled anytime soon.

I couldn't believe it when I heard about it this morning. He managed to prove everyone wrong when he was told he had two years to live when he was first diagnosed. He will be missed but he lives on through his work. Personally I loved him even more when he took on the minister in charge of the NHS here in the UK.

Yes, he was an inspiration. Died on PI day 3.14, and the birthday of Einstein. Beat his life expectancy (is tha the right word?) threefold. Whenever you saw him on TV, it was like "oh look! It's Stephen Hawking!". I will teach my son about him when he's old enough to find an interest in science and the universe. One of the greats.

RIP Mr. Hawking. We will likely never see your like again in our lifetime.
