Hi, I've been lookin to get a new bike, and I was wondering if you could be of some assistance. You see, I'm looking for a bike with a standard look but with a sport engine. the possibility of a DOHC engine wouldn't hurt. Like a street bike. I don't want a cruiser or touring one. I've looked at Honda and Suzuki and was wonderin if anyone here has a bike or know of such a bike.

The type of look I'd like is :

I used to have a Suzuki GS 550 ('83). It was a piece of sh!t, but I loved riding it around. I haven't had a bike since then, but have road a few, mostly crotch rockets.

The one pictured look nice.

I want a URAL with a sidecar.

Sorry, I can't be of more help.

You want a Harly or failing that an Indian. Unless your going to use it for racing at which point sure get a Honda.

That Boulavrd you have in the oic is way to small of a bike. Look at the C50 if you want that type. Try a Honda VTX 1300 (green one) or a Kawasaki Vulcan 900 custom (looks huge for a 900 ). I have ridden both of these and they are great bikes, the 1300 will be my next buy. With Hardkrome exhaust and a hyper charger they sound like a stock car, cant wait.

thanks traks, lookin at the VTX1800 and 1300. Nice looks but i have yet to find someone post a vid of their bike with stock parts on youtube, just so i can hear the engine, and get a little bit more of a taste. also looked at the 919 and 599. and suzuki GS500, just to spark my interest.

What about a Yamaha Virago or the newer Dragstar? Or are those too cruiser for what you're looking for.

Me personally, I own a Honda Shadow and love it. I always recommend those.

Howdy...know the type...look in bike trader.com? find a good mech and would make this thing well, less electronics, will
last a long time. My kid..rides a small cc suzuki street in japan. It's like the picture, just has all the fairing bit.
kawi, suzi has something you might need, not too familiar with
honda..they have reliable models, yammmy ask around some models
are great..others...gotta look into it...all good. grim

Well, a Honda 750 Nighthawk would be a solid bet. But it is waaay to heavy and powerful for a beginner.

Do like I did, start off on a Honda 250 Rebel, and embrace the beauty that is 72mpg city and mechanical indestructibility!

Learn on a small bike, then graduate to a medium one, then get a "big" aka 750+ bike.

Japanese bikes are so sublime.
