Snow Day!

Today in Fort Wayne, we've gotten about 8 inches of snow, and I am celebrating my first snow day in the last 6 years.

Wooo snowday!

Edit: And the snow keeps coming. I'm rooting for about 2 more feet, then it'll feel like good ol' MI.

Are swans made of snow? Mother says yes, but wikipedia is unclear.

We're getting socked too...we're supposed to get 8 inches or so today, and at least that amount tomorrow, from what I've heard.

Speaking of which, it's time to go shovel...

Supposed to get socked with a couple feet starting tonite and ending Thursday morning. Landlord is out of town so I guess I'll be running the snowblower tomorrow.

Well you should definitely have it by now. I know we do. Guy plowed our drive way at about 3:00 pm today when it was already 8 inches deep. It's now almost 8:00 pm and you can't even see where he had driven through. So we have about 13 inches here right now and about 2 feet where it's drifted.

Oh, we got it all right. Our driveway's drifted up to 3 feet in some places, and while my girlfriend gets to put her car in our one-car garage, I don't like to think of how deeply buried mine is by now.

Definitely not looking forward to shoveling. :)

Damn I have to drive from just outside Detroit to Eastern Michigan Univ. to pick up a server then drive back to Detroit. It's bad enough that people in Michigan forget how to drive when a little bit of snow comes down....

Yeah I know, I had one of those "special" types riding 6 inches from my bumper all the way to work. People who drive SUVs really piss me off sometimes...

Worst thing about it is that I was in the far right lane and all the guy had to do was go around. Snow just makes people retarded in this state. It's some kind of metaphysical phenomenon that has yet to be explained.

If it's any consolation, people in Ohio seem to share that retardation...and the last example of this was demonstrated to me by a tractor trailer. Nothing more reassuring than seeing one of THOSE SOB's gaining on you in the right lane until you can practically see your reflection in the radiator grill...

Can't start my snowblower. Really don't want to shovel. Good thing I don't need to go anywhere. It is snowing like crazy right now. Think I'll just worry about it tomorrow.

Okay so I head out on 94 east towards Ypsi... One lane is clear. Well not really clear but there were tracks. Top Speed? 30 mph. The normal speed limit is 70. It actually got slower than idiling speed a couple of times. Grr.

Trip should have only taken a half hour. It took me 1 hour and 45 minutes.

We're getting LOTS of snow here in Brockport, NY!:D

I bet you are. I went to college at Brockport. I remember winter there. Usually 3 times as much snow as we get here and we get a good amount.

Jesus H. Christ in a wheelbarrow!

We should've gotten a snow day today. We could barely make it out of the drive way. We had to have one of our neighbors connect a rope between our car and his, and pull us out of the drift. If he hadn't come, I probably wouldn't've had to go to school.

Just to note. If you literally cannot make it out of your yard and school is open you can call the school and they'll mark it down as an excused absence.
