Love taco & deep fried cicken goodness. We don't have either franchise restaurant chains in Australia, unfortunately. So which is better? Taco Bell or Popeyes?

Shut the front door!!!
Google shows there's even a local Popeyes Pizza N Kebab, that's not related to the US Popeyes.

Still doesn't answer the fundamental question. Which is better: Taco Bell or Popeyes?

Taco Bell, no question. I enjoy fried chicken once in a while, but Chik fil A is a much better option for that.

We don't have Chik fil A either. What an oddball name.

I gotta go With Taco Bell. I've had Popeyes before and even the fake KFC chicken is better than that garbage.

Supposed to be a play on the word 'filet' which is supposed to imply that the quality of the chicken is high. Having consumed their product on a regular basis, I can attest the implication is correct.

You and me both. The one by me knows me by name and order.

Popeyes copping a roasting. Are they perhaps a more affordable/cheaper option, say compared to KFC or Chik fil A?

Ditto. Though I do like to throw them a curveball here and there and modify my order.

I had Popeyes once in life, about 19 years ago. Was not impressed at all. I did go to a ghetto part of town, maybe that was the problem.

I'd have to say Taco Bell by default, only because our first visit to Popeye's was marred by rude drive-thru customer service: while trying to choose what we want after telling the attendant so, we heard "HELLO??? Are you still there?". So yeah, we left and filed a complaint. #-o

My local Taco Bell/KFC combo has gone down hill in some areas, so we diverted to other venues like Sonic, Golden Chick, Taco Cabana, Bojangles (we have them in DFW now!) and Raisin' Cane's.

There's a Cane's being built right across the street from where I work. Should open in a month or so. I'll give it another month after that before the hype settles and I'll go and try it. Never had it before, heard good things.

It's basically the In-and-Out of Fried Chicken restaurants: very simple menu with just Tenders (3, 4, or 6) or a Tender Sandwich with crinkle-cut fries, colesaw and toast. Definitely give their special sauce a try :)
