Why? You tend to hate things, then give either crappy reasons, or no reason at all.

Just curious, have you actually played Halo/Halo 2?

Also, if you notice, the last ign update for the halo movie was in May.

Basically the Halo movie, while it still wants to be done, is in developmental hell right now since they have no director and such.

Why? Because millions of others like it? The series has an insanely good storyline when you couple the games with the books. In all honesty Halo and Metroid have slightly similar stories.

And also. Halo has been slated for a movie for about 3 years now.

I haven't been following the news, but they have a director listed on Imdb. Not that Imdb is the most reliable or up to date, but has that changed now?

However, theres been nothing official(at least not that I've seen, I could be wrong) saying he'll be directing the Halo movie.

How so? I don't know of any other 41 year old cybernetically enhanced super soldier named John who has brown hair, freckles, a gap in his teeth and who was taken from his home at the age of 6 and replaced with a clone so he could be genetically altered to become one of the last hopes of the human race in a vane attempt at stopping a force known as the Covenant.

Wow that was long winded.

You're kidding right?

EVERYTHING lacks originality.

People come up with ideas, by seeing things they like, taking those things that they like and incorporating them into their own work.

While Master Chief may have been taken from a number of sources.

The story behind Halo, was also taken from numerous different sci-fi sources.

But, while it used these ideas for the basis of it's story. It also made the story it's own by using original elements.

It's the same with any sci-fi movie, book, game. Even non-sci-fi mediums do the exact same thing.

I never liked Halo either, but I played it first and found it lackluster.

See that I can live with and understand. The gameplay itself isn't really anything fascinating.

You what's better than Halo? DOOM. And the movie sucked big time. So don't have high hopes for this.

Oh I don't. I believe the movie will suck. But I still have to show some support based on that fact that it has to have an 8 foot tall dude in shining green armor shooting something.

"Bloodquest" was gonna have a jillion 10 foot tall dudes in shining red armour shooting somethings. And it was supposed to come out about seven years ago.

As you can see Neil Blomkamp was announced as the director nearly a year ago. Even though its his first feature film to direct I think he should do a good job. I thought his short Alive in Joburg was pretty good.

Like the armor the Marines wear in the games is very similar to the armor in Aliens and Starship Troopers.

Huh, totally missed that bit of news. Last news I heard concerning a director, was that Peter Jackson was tapped to direct, then he left, then nobody knew what the hell was going on with the movie.

Shadowman wrote:Like the armor the Marines wear in the games is very similar to the armor in Aliens and Starship Troopers.

Exactly, the powered armor from the Starship Troopers book wouldn't work for a live action movie, it's cumbersome and huge, and for soldiers, thats not good.

So for the movie, they went with the vest/helmet look.

Halo went the same route. The regular marines have lighter armor, since they don't have the cybernetic upgrades that the chief has, if they were armored more-so they'd just end up like Storm Troopers.

So Bungie went that route with Halo 1, the second Halo they gave more marine a more armored look like the chiefs.
