For the past few months I've been severely addicted to glam metal.

It's getting to the point that it's all I listen to!

Anyone know of any other bands?

It doesn't matter if they are from the 80s, 90s or the 00's

I'm really not a Dio fan lol

But I'll give Rainbow and Slaughter a listen.

I wasn't able to make it to see Ratt and Poison when they played at Blossom about a month ago.

Glam can be a broad term. I've heard bands like Van Halen, Alice Cooper, Bon Jovi, Guns n Roses, Scorpions, and Kiss being classified as such.

If you don't like DIO, you may not like Rainbow. He's in there also.

I consider the bands who wore makeup in the early 80's glam

Bands like G&R ,Skid Row,Slaughter and Def Leppard don't fit that mold

I'll agree, there is a lot of crossover. But out of the ones you mention GnR and Def Leppard would be the ones that I would take out.

The OP did add hair metal to his original post so I would include Skid Row and Slaughter.

And if anyone wants to classify GnR as hair metal or glam we're going to have a beatdown.

RATT and Skid Row didn't wear it either, but Original Sin has it on the list. I took this to be more of a Hair Metal list. However, if Original Sin is only after make up artists...King Diamond.



Edit: Please note that many of these bands listed have differrent sounds. i.e.Power ballads, hard rock, metal, Black Metal(KD), rock, pop rock, love ballads. If you are after a specific sound, let us know.

Ooh, ooh, I thought of another band: LA Guns.

There really isn't a specific sound I'm going for.

I'm one of the few people that actually enjoy a good power ballad every once in awhile.

And LA Guns isn't showing up

No, you are not the only one. I have listened to some of Whitesnake, Twisted Sister, Bon Jovi, Motley Crew. A lot of it was when I was growing up in the '80s, and my brothers would play them a lot. I also like some of Metallica and Guns & Roses. So I got a liking for them.

Power ballads are cool

He's not glam metal, hair metal, or metal at all(unless he's a robot like I suspect), but every playlist needs some Tom Jones.
