I'm surprised it hadn't been mentioned, with a Spidey 3 dvd thread and all.
http://tmnt.warnerbros.com/index2.htmlBut, yeah, TMNT comes out this Tuesday, saw the first tv spot for it yesterday, with all the advertising for 300, Pathfinder and Hot Fuzz, I was surprsed when I actually saw the trailer for the dvd.
Anyway, I can't wait.

Even though I haven't seen it yet, I more than likely will grab this one.
How is it compared to the original TMNT movie, the first one?

I thought they really put Donny and Mikey on the backburner in this one. I know the riff between Leo and Ralph makes for actual character development, but I would've liked to have seen more of Mikey....and for him to have actually been funny. And a lot less Casey! It was dumb enough to have him in the first movie.
To me, nothing will ever beat Secret of the Ooze. I can recite just about every line in that movie after all these years. I will probably get this DVD, but moreso for my children than for me.

Can't wait for this. Just as a heads up though. Wal-Mart is supposed to be carrying a 2-Disc set which includes the regular movie and then the PC version of the game (which was damn awesome as well). I'm curious to see what the price will be in tomorrows paper.

Oh, I just realize season 5 of the original TMNT is also coming out Tuesday. It will have the pizza box packaging. So now I have 2 reasons to go to Wal-Mart on Tuesday

I got the movie as a gift for my child's first day of school. He's two and started preschool! He was a little scared, so I went and got the movie for him.

here's a question, will that mean it will be available in dvd rentals at this same time?
If so, I'll go rent it and watch it since I haven't seen it yet.

Yes, movies are always released on Tuesdays to rent or buy. I might rent Disturbia since I haven't seen it yet. My little boy is watching TMNT right now.

Anyone here get the Target two disc "special edition"? I have the main release but I was wondering if the bonus disc is even worth it.

Well, I rented it yesterday and watched it with my 10 year-old cousin and it was really good.
The voices themselves is what I think I enjoyed the most.
That Raphael guy was amazing. I even looked it up to see who it was cause I was guessing it was going to be one of those tough-act guys like Michael Madsen or Tom Sizemore.
This movie did a great job of mixing the 80's and 00's turtle continuities but also providing a new and vibrant story that entertains people of all ages.
Kudos!

Yup they sure do. It's the version I have. Has a special slip sleeve with the original (read: GOOD LOOKING) movie poster on the front with the bricks from the back wrapping around it's edges and sides. The extra disc has a 30 minute feature going over how the Turtles as a franchise has evolved into this new movie. Nothing really of interest to be honest, but it's nice to have a good cover and some extra content.

Finally was able to pick the dvd up Friday, and didn't get around to watching it until tonight.
The movie rocks, plain and simple. I could watch that film daily, it stays true to the original, yet merges in new stuff seamlessly.
I hate to say it, but for an 80's property movie, I prefer this over the Transformers film.
