Hi all, im 16 and entering my second year in highschool, and one gorup of my friends all like to have sleepovers all the time. Is that normal? I don't like sleepovers much sence one i always wake up with a back ache and theres not much u do at a sleepover that can't be done by hanging out. And the worst part is everytime i say no they make a big fuss about it. My one friend is fine with it and dosen't care much. The other big prob is my one friend lies and tries to make me feel bad. Like when i didnt go to one bday sleepover cause i was sick and he said the kid's little borther was crying saying where is he? And the brother told me it wasen't true! And my one friend has done that a few other times. Like when we were trying to get one frined to go see rush hour 3 with us even though he had just gotten home from a 6 hour plane ride and gotten back at 5 am. He haden't slept sence, and i told my friend if he dosen't wanna go don't make him. And he tells me just tell him we can't do it any other day. And i told him we can and he says, ye, but he dosen't know that. I just told him what i was going to already and he got pissed. Now he wants another bday sleepover for himself what should i do?

Well, in high school, many people, at least where I'm from, have sleepovers. Some people, like my brother, just want to hang out with his friends longer. Some sleepovers are just drinking parties. If your friend is having a birthday sleepover, you might want to tell them that you'll go to part of it, like stay until midnight or so, but that you'll be going home later. Or something like that.

I thought sleepovers were a girl thing?

I never heard of a guy sleep over even when I was in high school

To be fair, that doesn't sound like much of a friend.

Somehow it sounds like you answered your own question.

Sometimes I would stay over on a Fri nite so we could do something early on Sat morn. However, mostly my boys and me would go camping in the woods. Have a fire, drink a pack, smoke a bowl, type of thing. The key is to bring a CD player(back then we had these things called "Cassettes") anyway, play some load music, start a punching match(lick for lick) and then stay up as late as possible and torture whoever fell asleep first.

My only advice is:

If you have a friend who asks, "If you went camping, and woke up with a sore butt, and vaseline all over it, would you tell anybody?" You need to stay away from that one...

Sleepovers are pretty normal. Booze, pizza and videogames.

I wouldn't call it gay. Sounds like you're just very wary of your own sexuality. ^_~

For guys, it's only "gay" when you call it a sleepover. You call it "crashing for the night" or something. You don't drag out your sleeping bags and make popcorn and tell gossip stories at a guy sleepover. That is ONLY for girls.

That's because for guys they're not called sleepovers.

They're called 'going on the pull with free B&B'

And yes they're pretty damn normal. This is the first night I've spent home. But then again we play as a band each time we meet up, so...

The best advice I could give is to call them fags and beat them up.

And there's very little actually "sleeping", or even laying down, unless you count passing out at 4 in the morning after 8 straight hours of Halo, Monster, and conversations about that hot blond you buggered last week.

Me and Tweezy usually stay up late watching Adult Swim, looking up ecchi (A fancy word for non-nude hentai), and playing a game called "Fred's On Fire" which is a lot like Guitar Hero.

We call it "Spending the Night," NOT "sleepover."

Ungodly doses of Caffeine may be involved.
