Yeah, it was a typo. However, they are legislature, they're supposed to be grammar whores and clause nazi's when it comes to passing bills. And yet they overlooked that.

Ah, teenagers get married there all the time. It's really a southern thing. I guess if you're gonna have babies in your teens, might as well get married. My two best friends got married at 16 and 17. Nothing new. Just need your parents' permission.
We all know that no babies are getting married. Well....that would be kind of cute, actually.

Not surprising really. I feel that every form of government in our country is a joke.

QUICK!!! All you horny 16 year old Arkansas kids who believe in waiting until marriage for sex... get married!
Ah, who are we kidding. No one wants to get married anymore, there's too much divorce. Imagine being 17 and paying alimony to your ex-wife?!

Well, Jim Bob and Becky Sue can now marry without feelin' too bad. I mean aside from the fact that they're cousins.

Funny. I thought the thread would read:
The US is the first country in history to allow toddlers and babies to... own a working machine gun.
Seriously guys, who the hell is at the steering wheel of your lump o land?

Well in all fairness, he *did* choke on a pretzel. Those salty bastards!

Weird!!
And yet they won't have gay marriages be legal. I see nothing wrong with two people of the same sex wanting to be together. Love is for everyone imo. No flames please.

I agree with you. I'm not gay and don't really know anyone gay but I don't think I have the right to deny them what I get to do.

Well I ain't gay(got Aspergers Syndrome) either but I do know what it is like to feel like you have no rights or equality at all. Hence my opinion.

The only gay man I know really isn't the shining example of love and commitment, but I don't see how a sexual preference which has been recognised for millenia is still shunned to the degree it is. The greatest minds that shaped the very idea of civilisation were pederasts, after all.

That's right, it's all about putting yourself in another's situation. I just think to myself that if I were gay, I would want to be treated like anyone else and allowed basic rights such as marriage. I don't see why it's such a hot topic. But that's America for you. I love my country, but sometimes our priorities are way out of line. When boys kissing is more distressing than no funding for stem cell research...ok, I don't know if I'm allowed to talk about this stuff, so I'll stop.

That's ok this hasn't turned into a flame thread (yet). Australia is getting worse with the whole gay rights thing. When it comes to stuff like superannuation and wills the partner isn't recognised and stuff, which is dumb.Bloody conservative government. Come November that will hopefully change(election). How come a person can leave their estate to their pets (which I have read of) and a gay couple can't? So dumb.
