I'm not sure how many of us are DC fans as opposed to Marvel, but I love Justice League. This movie is gonna be the perfect way to set up movies for the whole DC franchise:

YES!!!!!!!!
When do the powers-that-be want to start production on Justice League? Apparently, as soon as the first quarter of 2008, that’s right, WB sources have informed the IESB that execs behind the Justice League of America want it to be in production as early as February/March 2008 to be ready for a summer of 2009 release.

Hmm....

Would that not mean that it would most likely be in competition with Transformers 2 though?
I'm thinking that they should try to avoid the same date, but aim close to it. Kind of like how Spidey 3 was a couple weeks earlier than TF.

I hate to say this but I have a feeling if they released a JLU movie at the same time as TF or any other movie, it would most likely squash it..

Well, personally I think Spiderman is (or should be) done with now. So maybe they'll never compete with that again (DC, that is). I'd definitely watch a Justice League movie.

But I'd watch a TF movie a lot, lot more.

I have read a few things on the net suggesting that 4 is not out of the question. Toby even said on the Howard Stern show that he would do a 4th if it was a good script.
There are so many people that are clamoring for a JLA movie it would almost assuredly do gangbusters in the theaters..
I am a fan of both so I would see them an equal amount of times (most likely).

Oh, I have no doubt it would make big bucks. And believe me, I'd be there supporting it. When it comes to Spiderman, the cast has sounded iffy about a fourth, and after all the flack the third movie got (I loved it) I'm wondering how it would do. Part of me thinks they should replace Tobey because he's getting older (would be almost mid-thirties playing someone in early 20s), yet I can't imagine anyone else playing Spiderman.
I'll tell you what I'm thankful for: one, Batman finally being taken seriously, and two, comic book movies ruling the box office. My type of movie!

Hmm, a Justice League movie sounds intriguing, but who would the JL be? Hopefully Supes, Bats, Wonder Woman, GL, and Flash. But I think that would be hard to do without some setup first, as it would draw in a lot of people who don't know a lot about the franchise(like who the alter egos are, where they got the powers, etc.).
For some reason, I think it might turn out like X3 a little bit, lot of cool flash, but unfortuneately, little substance. Then again though, most of my problems with X3 deal with the questionable handling of characters, be it not giving them anything worthwhile to do(Angel), poor characterization(the Brotherhood), or plot decisions(Cyclops).

I'm not sure about that. Everyone I know is sick of superhero movies, and they all loved Transformers.
And Marvel is better.

Except for Batman.

I've been looking forward to a JL movie since I first heard about them considering the sequel for Superman Returns to be the movie.
The biggest problem I see with a JL movie, is the chance for it to be full of camp, and end up being more a Super Friends film instead of Justice League.
But, I hope, I sincerely hope they choose Hal Jordan for the GL, then it could show a handful of Green Lanterns for Hal's backstory, and set up for John Stewart/Kyle Rayner and Guy Gardner in any JL sequel or GL movie.
Get Ben Browder for Hal, Michael Jai White for John Stewart, Kate Beckinsale for Wonder Woman, we know Routh will be Superman.
The biggest question is for the Flash, on IESB they say BArry Allen, but then they may try to go the comic relief route with The Flash giving us more of a Wally West Flash instead of the more serious Flash that Barry Allen was. So they got a a handful of choices for the Flash.
Make Gerad Butler Aquaman, so we can have him screaming "This is ATLANTIS."

Gotta be careful going with too many members in a JLU movie, lest it ends up like the first X-Men, way too much "here's the characters" and way not enough "blow stuff the hell up"

Over at Super HEro Hype found this
http://www.superherohype.com/news/topnews.php?id=6226Ryan Reynolds may be The Flash, that would be awesome, and if he does get the part, hopefully they'll make him the Wally West Flash instead of Barry Allen.

I have been talking about this on another board where we have been on this same subject for a few months now since we first heard about a JLU movie
The only thing is to make the costumes look real enough and not like Halloween costumes
Batman and Supes we know what to look for
But for GL,WW and Flash do they get an updated look for the real world ala X-men or can they pull off their costumes from the comics looking "real" and not cartoonish?

They did it in the Flash TV show and Wonder Woman (70's mind you but it worked) years ago. A little tweak here and there and bingo, current costumes. As for GL, maybe working the Kyle Rainer look could be the style to shoot for..

Flash I remember and GL can work
I hated Linda Carters diaper look though

I really hope Brandon Routh and Christian Bale reprise their roles for this.

I haven't seen Superman Returns, so I don't know about Mr. Routh's performance, but I loved Batman Begins and definitely plan on seeing The Dark Knight. Mr. Bale's performance was even better than Mr. Keaton's, much more forbidding, just as Batman should be.

Well, on the whole "I wonder if Bale will be Batman" thing.
http://www.superherohype.com/news/topnews.php?id=6231That sums it up.
I can't blame him, I would want to keep Batman separate from JL as well, since Batman was really a part timer of the JL anyway. Batman in the JL movie would be good, after they get through more of his villains, with Two-face being introduced along with the Joker in TDK, we still got a crapload of baddies to go through who could make awesome, and I mean awesome movies. Like making a movie based on Knightfall.

I think Brandon Routh and Christian Bale claimed they won't be in the Justice League movie... which is a shame because those guys are awesome.
Justice League could be cool but only if they have equally cool villains: The Legion of Doom!
