Anyone that understands the first part of the subject gets a cookie..but anyways...

Well, after being legally able to get my license for four years now(I'm 20), I finally got my license.

Why did I wait so long? Because I never had someone to teach me and could never afford lessons.

and to cut anyone off at this point, I didn't teach my self because well, I didn't have a car to practice in.

Well, I finally started learning to drive and I failed the maneuverability portion of the test the first two times I took it.

Today I got to use my step mom's Acura, which is a really nice car and handles amazingly.

The test was actually a breeze using her car compared to my car(an 82 Skylark)

Well, after the test we head home and my brother wants a Polar Pop and my step mom wanted me to pick some stuff up.

So I go to start my car and guess what...

It's DEAD

We don't know what's wrong with it, we just got it fixed for the same damned thing and it was supposed to be fixed and running properly.

My dad's friend looked at it and said that for some reason no fuel is getting pumped or something like that.

I am by no means a car person, if its not on E, I can't fix it.

After all this time of waiting to be able to drive legally so I can get a job and break away from this place I call "home"(for the time being until my step mom kicks me out again), yet another thing is thrown in my path to freedom.

I am so sick of this crap

I grew up in the country and learned to drive by stealing my mom's car and joyriding at nite.

I finally got caught(@14) and had to go to court(@15). My school offered Driver's Ed, so I went, it also lowered insurance. Well, by the time I actually went to court(we kept stalling until I turned 16) the judge dismissed all charges because I had a Drivers Licence and was legal.

I had a friend who grew up in NY and didn't learn to drive until 21. Apparently, they have this thing called "Public Transportation" and most people didn't need to learn to drive. This seems weird to me, but I was driving 3 wheelers, 4 wheelers and tractors before I first stole my mom's car. Driving is part of who I am. I love to drive, Let's hear it for Roadtrip's!

Oh, by the way, I have nothing to contribute to your story, but I thought I'd share mine.

Sorry man. But, if you had a DL and a car maybe you wouldn't have missed Ozzfest.

Well, if it makes you feel slightly better, I moved out when I was 19 and got my "freedom". Unfortunately, I was pregnant and newly married. We didn't know our heads from our asses at that point in time and also had a POS car. It always sucks when you first move out (though you do enjoy not being at the folks' house) but it gets better with time and more money.

Sorry about the car!

It could be the fuel pump, that is what it sounds like.

Although, there could be something a little more sinister, a good type of payback is slapping a marble in the gas tank, it rolls around then gets stuck in the fuel line, so fuel stops getting to the engine, nobody knows whats wrong with it and it costs a lot to go in all the times to figure out whats wrong.

I'd have to say, if you have any enemies, it could quite possibly be a marble or something similar in the gastank as well.

Also possibly rust from said gastank getting into the fuel line and clogging it.

Its most likely the rust, I don't rub many people the wrong way these days.

It sat for a week or so while I got used to my step mom's car so that would give the rust time to clog it I suppose.

It is an old car, so I expect these things to happen

Man your car would have to have gone through Hell to rust bad enough to clog your fuel line. $5 says it's the pump. It's just one of those things that dies in time. Theres no avoiding it.

I wasn't here when my dad's friend took a look at the car, here's hoping he figured it out

Well, my dad's friend said it's either the fuel pump or the fuel filter.

So, since the filter is cheaper, we ordered that first.

Hopefully that's wrong with it

***Update***

Because I know everyone cares ever so much :P

Anyway, it wasn't the fuel filter or fuel pump

It was an electrical problem I guess.

I don't know really, no one has told me anything.

They just have a few wires to reattach today and supposedly it will be running
