Toybiz really tried to create something uniuque that was heavily based on the Transformers, so they came up with Metamorphs! These 8-inch Superhero versions of assault bots transform into a futuristic transport vehicle based on the super heroe's powers. Included is a 2-inch figure that unlocks a "MECHA PowerPack" and a dedicated mini-comic.

Image

Unfortunately these figures were only released through Toybiz, and since the Marvel License has gone to Hasbro, we may never see these types of figures again, however they did pour their efforts into the Starwars transformers line up, but I much preferred these to that of the Deathstar and such...

Image

Venom was an awesome redeco version of Spiderman, and My Favorite has to be Wolverine and Captain America....

The Thing was a cool toy as well, but his images out of package were hard to find... Ironman was pretty good, but Doc Ock was kinda weak. The Hulk was okay, his tank was pretty cool..Ghost Rider was not the best... but overall it was a uniquely cool line up.. they are available online for 9.99 up to 15.99 each.. The question is, do I buy or leave them be? I know they aren't worth much, but they have a certain quality that I do adore and would like to know what the rest of the fandom thinks, is this a worth while pick up?

Cap, Iron Man, Wolverine, Thing, and Hulk are the only ones
even remotely worth owning IMNSHO.

don't be put off by the Ironman and Thing images, they were just cutouts of what the figures were supposed to look like.. the real bots are much better.. IMHO.. but yeah Captain America is one of my favorites, and Venom as well..

I got the Ghostrider one, I was unimpressed. On a side note, the mini ghostrider is great for putting in as a driver for transformers in his scale size

Gar-bage.

They would insult my real Transformers being in the same room as them.

Marketing whore-dom at its worst.

They have got to be better then the Star Wars Transformers releases, another Marketing Whoredom effect...

Still I love the Captain America, Wolverine and Venom, I might just buy...since I don't have a room, it won't effect my others one bit..but I do have a sizeable Marvel Legends MISB collection, so one day when I get my Personal Office/Art studio set up it will make a nice segway from my Marvel legends to Transformers displays..

Well i would have to exteremley disagree with you, Marvel and the Transformers Brand have been linked almost from day one, with the Cartoon and the comics being produced by them, these figures IMHO, are a great melding of the 2 ideas and as a throw back to G-1, I would love to see them in my collection, especially with my Masterpiece line up, what's cooler then an all out brawl with captain America Posed along side Optimus prime, and Venom posed along side Megatron, or Starscream holding a 1 1/2 inch Spidey captive in his cockpit.. Its kind of a cool way to get small figures and large robot transformers ones to enjoy together and enact an Avengers/Transformers scene..

Well I'm really not here to defend it, I just wanted to know what the rest of you thought of them...I'm kinda thinking that I may buy..

But I do value your Opinion...I just think that marvel and Transformers share a connection and yeah I agree there willalways be one transformers, but I think over the last 5 years or so, with Hasbro and their Transformers Starwars figures, and the assumption and acquisition of the Gobots into the Transformers brands, that the Marvel versions, released by a different company, holds more of an effective Homage and Bond to Transformers then those other attempts by Hasbro itself..and if you think about it, the Avengers in a cross over battle with Transformers would need transformable mecha to fight on an even ground...

I'd like to see hasbro do a version of Metamorphs, maybe they could improve the Toybiz designs..

they look cool and actually owning four (Iron Man, Spider-Man, Thing and Venom), they are nifty large mecha with BETTER hand designs then the MP line. these things are half the size of an MP but have FULL finger articulation.for hands alone these things rock!

The Marvel Metamorphs are crap. I like Iron Man (well, figures anyway... Registration Sucks!) So my nephews convince my sister to get me the Tony one. "Gar-bage" is too polite. And uncharacteristicly so for CP.

They're too small and logically don't make sense. Why make them for villians too? And why the Hell does the INCREDIBLE HULK need a tank? Is there still some doubt as to which is more effective in battle? The Army sure wouldn't think so. They have to buy in bulk because of him...

Adult brain aside, the toys just aren't fun. And I don't know if it was a linewide problem but mine was cheap and broke at the drop of a hat.

NOT A DIME
