I'm going to pass on some advice that one of my good female friends gave to me back in high school. She said:
Men are scum.
Remember that, and you will go far
But seriously, I'm sorry for you. But life is funny like that. This is one of those times where you are tested on how well you can cope and adapt to pain and loss. If you can get over it and look back on it in the future, you'll be fine.

My girlfriend "tolerates" my hobby of TF's, but she has even trotted out the ole "I wish you'd grow up" line. Which is a load of crap cause every one has a hobby. Your boyfriend, like my girlfriend, uses TF's as an attack point cause its easy. Not that its justified, just an easy target.
I told my girl that it wouldn't matter if I was a "car guy" and every 6 months wanted the latest rims. Were I a "tech guy" and semi-monthly updated my PAD,phone or blackberry. Should I be a "sports guy" and be off 2-3 times a week to a sporting event. We all have hobbies and for my girlfriend I got her to begrudgingly admit that most likely she wouldn't be happy with me spending money on any of the stuff, she'd rather I spent it solely on her.
I really think his break up has to do with the other 2 things and I wish you the best getting over him. Someone is out there for all of us and I wouldn't be surprised if I myself am looking soon again as well.

Ah, affairs of the heart.
You would think I would have some poetic gibberish to spout now. I wish I did.
It sounds like the guy was a moron that went behind your back with that other lass. People like that give the rest of us blokes a bad name. Well, that and the car mentality. And the love of the drink.
Eventually, the pain will stop and then you can start looking again. They say everyone has a match out there somewhere.
I would offer you a hug, but as it's the internet, I'll just offer a cyber-hug instead.

are you sure your gf and my gf aren't the same person because i've gotten that line too. i also get "what are you doing...seibertron?" and "i'm not buying you toys for your birthday." of course i too look at it from a hobby point of view.
drangonslayer is right, men are scum. we're jerks and we do things without thinking. you're pretty bummed out now, but shortly you'll feel better. a period of time where you feel rotten is normal, but you can't let that ruin everything else in your life. the best thing to do is to find happiness from yourself and others and not to rely on or use your past relationship as something to make you unhappy. 3 years is a long time and many people would be lucky to be with someone for 3 days. while you can't get those 3 years back, you can use what you learned in that time to make yourself better. all the things that went wrong or even the good things can help you have a better future with someone else, which im sure you can do.

Very sorry to hear about your breakup. I can relate only somewhat--my first relationship ended when my boyfriend died and my second ended in marriage, and I'm still married. I know that it is so hard though, when you've been in a relationship a long time and it ends like that. And he sounds like a jerk, anyway.
Next time, find someone that doesn't hassle you over your interests. I jokingly make fun of my husband's War Hammer hobby, but I would never seriously mock it or demand that he not enjoy it. That is ridiculous. I am fortunate that my hubby also likes Transformers and reads the books and plays with the toys as well.
The pain will subside.

As your attorney, I advise you to take a hit out of the little brown bottle in my medicine bag...
you won't need much...
just a tiny taste...

here and I'm sure you'll find a new boyfriend that shares the same interests (Transformers) as you....
Either that, or a whole clan of stalkers....

Ah the ever useful ODB.
Once it was just a place to hang out for all the UKers.
Then we became a pyrate crew and took to plundering the seven threads of Seibertron, looking for booty and drinking all the rum.
Then we were apparently designated a place to post toy sightings and upanchored from the toys forum to sail the uncharted waters of sightings.
Now we're a dating service. It's all getting a bit confusing.

If he had blithely gone out and gone into a relationship just days after you've broken up, I hardly think he was really in the relationship anymore before that. Cry it out if you wish, don't hold it all in. After that, just do what you can to take your mind off him. At least now you know what you'll NOT be looking for in the next relationship.

Well I know how it feels to be out of a relationship with a person you really admired. I can't seem to comprehend what it would be like after a 3-year relationship.
All I gotta say is that if you're going out with a person that doesn't like what you do as a hobby, and your hobby is legal... than you have every right to kick him/her out of the door. You shouldn't have to go out of the way(and quit your hobby) just to make the other person feel better.
I'll take my chances with someone else who can like me for who I am, and not complain about my hobby.

Wow, that sucks. Well, the only way to go now is up.
Wish I could give you some advice, but I never was in a relationship with anybody longer than a couple of weeks before I got married, so there's not much advice to give. I lucked out, found a "loser" like me. She loves my TF collection almost as much as I do. IN fact, she got TF pillow covers & a throw blanket for our couch. Early on, though, she did gripe that I was spending too much on TFs, but I pointed out that I wasn't spending any more than we were on going out to eat because she refuses to cook on fridays, & she dosen't complain anymore.
The problem with transformers is that we grew up with it. Yes at first it was for kids, but as we grew, Hasbro started to adjust for the long-term fans, so now they're not just for kids...but since they're still technically toys, people use it as an excuse to put you down. It's sad, I know. As far as that's concerned, if somebody dosen't like it, screw 'em. Find someone that does.
This guy, though, dosen't seem to be worth wasting any more thought over. But yeah, I kinda agree with Homer. If you want to get him back, spread some dirt...maybe a few half-truths...some dirty little secrets you know will repulse his new girl. Ruin his reputation....just be sure to do it in a way that it won't come back on you as just lashing out at a bad relationship.

Like saying he gave you Herpes. That would not be a good thing to spread around because it would then bite you on the arse saying you have Herpes.

He's kissing other people? Inexcusable. If he ever darkens your doorstep again, kick him in the nuts and take out a restraining order.
And no, men aren't scum. I've met plenty of women who also fit the bill. People are generally just plain stupid.

Bingo. Thank you.
