I don't know if this is a good thing. I think it will end up being a large source of humor when it comes out.

If it IS like what Hugo suggested, the Church would never let it pass. It's more likely that it's just going to be the exact same stories, but with pretty anime art to go with.

It's Osamu Tezuka's "Buddha" series. Note, it's Tezuka's work so expect craziness.

I'm not too religious anymore, but I can't help but be amused at some people's reactions to this. Seriously, how is making a manga about the Bible different than making a manga about any other story in history? Heaven forbid anyone ever does a Greek mythological, Egyptian pantheon, Romulus and Remus, King Arthur or Gilgamesh manga; then people can really get their panties in a bunch over such concepts.

That said, I guess no one has ever seen the anime shows of the Old Testament...

An additional five that they'll have little chibi strips at the end of the whole book.

I would have preferred a traditional comic book adaptation, but then again, I just want my variant David Finch covers.
