PC HELP: I can't change my homepage[Updated]

I have IE7 and when I try changing my homepage it just goes back to the same HP homepage redirect crap. I can add other ones that become other tabs, but I can't change the first 1. Anyone know how I can fix this? It's not a big problem. I can just close the HP tab, and then just go about as normal with a second homepage(like Google or something). But it's really **** annoying to have to wait for a page that I don't want to load, and then close it, just to go on the internet. It's really getting on my nerves!

Sounds like you have some form of spyware. You should never not be able to change your homepage permanently.

Yep, Spyware issue.

Might get to the point you have to manually edit the registry as well to get rid of it.

Spyware, really? Could that be why my DVD burner isn't working either? What should I do? Is there some way I can erase everything and start fresh?

OK, I found out what the problem was...kinda. I creating a new account, tried changing my homepage and Norton gave me an alert about someone was trying to change my account. Someone must have told it to keep the default HP homepage no matter what. Although I couldn't figure out how to tell Notron to undo that. So I created a new account, deleted the old one, and I think I told Norton to mind his own business. I'm never too sure with that POS. Still can't figure out why my burner keeps stopping half way through though. But I'll investigate more into that, and if need be, post a seperate topic. Man, why do computers have to be such a pain?

So no, it wasn't pr0n spyware. :P OK?

Possibly a stupid question. But why the **** are you using Norton? It's quite possibly the worst anti-virus ever to be released.
