Looking for general TF info

Hi,
I'm in the process of writing a fan-fiction and I need some information. Specifically, how long to do Transformers live. I've tried looking it up (maybe I didn't look hard enough) but I can't find anything.

Is there a place that has general info like that?

p.s. I know it's just for a fiction and I could make it up, but I'm a stickler for accurate details.

I honestly don't think it's ever mentioned anywhere.

Does a spark ever age? IMO, I doubt it, so i'm going to have to go with Transformers live for an eternity on that one.

Thanks. I know what's cannon, but I wasn't sure if there was general facts on things as mundane as life spans and whatnot.

It depends on which theory and which story you want to believe. In the original cartoon Alpha Trion was considered to be one of the oldest living Autobots. The story of 'Forever Is A Long Time Coming' had him already being a well-rounded leader 11 million years past.

The Marvel comics counted the ages of a Transformers not as much over the time they existed as more in the span of time they were active. The stories overall gave them a life span of 'only' a few thousand years. Especially the UK Comics gave glimpses of certain Transformers in the future being old that had set them not even close to having existed a million years. The fact that Prime and the others crashlanded on Earth 4 million years ago would suggest that while they were deactivated during that, their life-cycles also stopped, until they were reactivated again.

Time in Beast Wars (which is based more on the Marvel comics then the cartoon) is also based on a less broad spectrum. Set 300 year or so after the Autobots and Humans defeated the Decepticons, these events were already labeled "ancient", which would be very odd for a race that can live thousands or even millions of years!

Thatnks, that helps a lot. I've only seen the original series (granted that was as a kid when it first came out), TF:TM -shakes fist at- and the 2007 movie. I never got to see Beast Wars or read any of the comics. My friends has the comics but won't let me borrow them because they're bagged-n-tagged MIC, even tho I let him read my MIC Brood War.

Now knowing that Alpha Trion is 11 million y/o helps a ton and will make a part of my story work well!

The original G1 comics were awesome. UK mostly. You do realize there are places on the internet where you can go and *ahem* acquire things...

In the episode were the arilbot go back in time and meet orion pax, optimus prime says it was nine million years old witch means thats how old optimus is during G1, but if the four million that they were "sleeping" on earth doesn't count then Prime is only FIVE MILLION YEARS OLD!!!!!
