Official Transformers Generation 1 DVDs?!?

Just wondering if anyone knows of any plans to re-release the Generation 1 shows on DVD anytime soon ...official U.S. release. I just found it a bit odd that they didn't think of this and already had it on the market before the movie came out...

Like TMNT has the old 80's episodes being released on DVD and they have been for a while now before their new movie.

Again, just found it weird that those in charge of Transformers marketing wouldn't do the same...

Well I know there's the Asia 20th Anniversary Collection G1 release. It plays worldwide, and your local HMV should have it(at ridiculously high prices).

They have been released by Rhino a few years ago. Wasn't that official?

I don't know if they did. I'm just asking anyway because I can't find them online. (Wouldn't they still be around if they did?) Whenever I do a search I just get the newest series and beast wars. Unless I'm not looking in the right places?!?

Thanks for the replies though. :o)

Amazon.com has both the Rhino boxed season sets and the Chinese import whole series boxed set. Personally I would go with the Chinese tin, I have it and it is vastly superior (and much cheaper) than the Rhino releases. I got mine on eBay for $55 w/ shipping, but was a year ago, Amazon has it starting at $73 w/ free SuperSaver shipping ... still not that bad for all 4 seasons plus the movie in one collection.
