SHAMELESS PLUG!

Anyone interested in the Cthulhu Mythos should check it out, there's the complete H.P. Lovecraft archives, plus select Mythos tales from modern writers, several of which (myself included) frequent the rather anarchic forum. Which I moderate. Oooh.

I recently read the Necronomicon out of morbid fascination. The forward was particularly interesting, as it explained how the basis for Lovecraft's Cthulhu could, conceivably, have some ties to Sumerian mythology.

But for the most part I think Lovecraft was just plain bonkers.

He was just plain bonkers. He found sex disgusting for one thing, and it was one of several factors that ended his marriage and prompted his ex wife to burn everything that reminded her of him.

And the Necronomicon comes from the name Astronomicon which was an astronomy magazine he had been editor of. Abdul Al'Hazred was his pretend name as a kid when he was obsessed with Arabian Nights. Hazred was the family name of some relatives.

And Zenith, we know Lovecraft owns. I've spent the past 6 years knowing Lovecraft owns. And there was nothing about him in that link. I hope that thread doesn't contain ideas that Cthulhu is real. It's not. Give it a rest.

That is easily the worst comparison I've ever seen. It wasn't a link about Cthulhu, just a advert whoring for a thread you just posted in.

Cthulhu = fictional
Ghosts = Phenomenon

So did he still live at home in the deep, or did he have another place?

And did it exist within Euclidean space/time?
