Forums didn't switch over to the proper server last night

I didn't update one of the settings last night when I moved the site's database over to the database server after it was back up and running yesterday. I know it's been kind of a bumpy ride during the past 6 weeks. This should mark the end of threads and data being lost now that the scuzzy drive was replaced on the database server.

For fear of screwing something else up, I decided that it wasn't worth trying to recover the posts from the past 24 hours. I'm going to leave it as it is. In a month's time, this past 24 hour period won't really matter much in the big scheme of things. The new scuzzy drive should have resolved the problem with the database tables becoming corrupt so things should be better from here on out.
If you need something that's really urgent from a private message or something from the past 24 hours, please let me know and I will retrieve the information for you. Otherwise, let's just keep moving forward. Thanks!

Thanks for the explanation as well as the hard work that I imagine you put into it all. I've been worried for awhile about problems happening to the site given how enjoyable and valuable I find spending my time here and I would hate to lose the ability to converse on these forums.
Again, thanks Ryan.

I was wondering why I lost a day of posts and PMs. I also thought it was a bit strange that my post count on the boards didn't match my profile post count.

Ah, that explains it. Also why the forums were down most of the day I assume?

I'm not sure I'd call it a "mess" but I would say we've definitely had a few set backs. Better now than in June. Sounds like I'm going to have to have an "Open Energon Keg Nite" at the forums.

Actually, that was unrelated though it might have been kind of a blessing in disguise since that slowed down the # of posts yesterday on the wrong server.

You'll be happy to know that I've got a lot of great things coming out of the programming pipes in the near future. All of these problems are leading to a new solution in the form of better, faster and more user friendly forums that should help build the various communities on this site.

Seibertron.com, website. A website barely alive. Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to build the world's best transformers community. Seibertron.com will be that website. Better than he was before. Better, stronger, faster.
Thats right, I went there.

By mess I mean long term posters leaving because of the way things are going on this forum.
It's not a good sign when new members seem to be allowed to act like complete wankers and the only thing that gets the Mods attention is a flame war. (Would a "Report this post" button help?)
Not to mention how confusing it is when one Moderator locks a thread only for it to be over turned by another.
There's lots more I could post but don't do so out of fear of repurcusions for speaking my mind about what's slowly killing this site for a number of long time members.
