Bandai Creation, a division of the Bandai we all know and love or loathe, has come through and surprised everyone yet again with a fourth series of Godzilla vinyls, with some BIG plans in the future. Photos courtesy of swfreakjpb and Dragonstorm of the ClubTokyo forums.

Bandai Japan on left, Bandai Creation on right.

Figures retail for $9.99 and have been sighted at KB Toys as well as a single sighting at a K-Mart (accuracy to be determined). The all-new twelve-inch figures are currently not available.

And if you were unaware of the previous three series...

I don't have any of those particular figures, but it's nice to know in case I decide to collect Godzilla figures when I get more room. Hope they come out with another Angilas/Angurius, as I don't really like the looks of the one they released. And a Varan would be cool.

Took long enough, but from eBay, pictures of all four figures.

Still not sure of Hedorah myself, and I've never been a huge fan of vagina-eyes there. Especially not after seeing the movie.

Godzilla 2000 is a must-have. The original Japanese version is ridiculously expensive for what it is anyway.

Since I never picked up a Destoroyah earlier, I'll probably get this one too.

And Godzilla 1968, I could take it or leave it, probably the latter since I have no desire to pick it up and I already have a toy of the Godzilla I grew up on, Megaro-Goji. :)

-sigh- Well at least I'm glad to have found Gigan a few years back. Finding these figures wouldn't be that hard. The trick is finding a KB Toys thats still in business.

Hmmm.. Hedorah looks a bit different than his 6 movie monster series..
I may pick him up when I find him.

Hugo - I used to have all of Series 1 and 2, but I sold them all out of disappointment. (Series 2 sucked.) You can wager a guess as to which one I kept. :) I even have the Japanese and the 6" Final Wars versions!

Bishop - The Hedorah is different, in size, color and sculpt, but there's no way to confirm the differences or their significance until someone does a comparison gallery the same way as the other three. The only other factoid I've picked up is a near or total lack of articulation, while the Japanese version could move its arms a bit.

Actually, I've seen a few at CVS/Rite Aid. The Toys R Us near me has some(mostly GMK Godzilla), and K-Mart might still have a few.

I really like Godzilla, and I have a few Trendmaster figures, but I don't really know where I want to go with collecting of them. I'm strongly considering going back to a Rite Aid near me and picking up Final Wars Gigan(first version) that I saw a couple months ago, if they still have it. Is he still high in demand? What other figures are high in demand should I look for? I dont' have a job, but figure I could pick up one or two figures if they're rare.

Also, I remember seeing some kind of diorama thingy that had Godzilla vs. Anguirus from Godzilla Raids again, and I'm just wondering how much that goes for, who makes it, and what the heck do I look for? Couldn't find it on BBTS, and if I remember right, it had a good lookin Anguirus. Why is it so hard to make an really good looking figure of him?

And what's up with the Trendmasters figures? I have a few(Bendy Ghidorah, Mechagodzilla II, Rodan, Black Godzilla, Mecha King Ghidorah), but some of the others like Varan, Megalon, and especially Baragon look like they're on steroids! And it looks like Angurius was only released in a two-pack. No wonder I couldnt' find him many years ago at Big Lots. Course, he suffered from "super-muscles" too.

The Final Wars Gigan isn't that incredibly desirable or expensive. The original Gigan, the one that Senor Hugo and I have, is, as well as Rainbow Mothra and to a much lesser extent Burning Godzilla, Mechagodzilla, and Spacegodzilla. The Final Wars series is very common online and while the FW Gigan, Rodan, and Anguirus aren't very easy to find, they're not "big bucks" rare. Not when their Japanese versions are so readily available and usually less expensive on the internet (FW Gigan's 8" incarnations notwithstanding).

The Yuji Kaida Art Works series come in cases of eight - four standard painted figures and four bronzed, unpainted versions. This set has the added distinction of including a rare black and white version of the Godzilla and Anguirus dioramas. Because the painted figures are much more popular than the bronzed ones, you'll rarely see a set of color ones alone. This won't be a cheap purchase, but it can still be found.

Well, not much I can tell you there. Trendmasters had an... interesting approach to some of the kaiju. I think the upgrades to those three in particular were motivated by the "cheesy" appearance of the original kaiju, same with Anguirus and even Gigan to an extent. Heisei kaiju tended to have fewer changes, while certain characters like Godzilla and Rodan blended the different variations together.

I think Bishop may I don't know if every body else does

I will try to find pics of these both figures were about a foot tall and there was a button in back of Godzillas head when you pushed it his toungue came out looking like his nuclear fire?

They were made by Mattel

Mattel's Rodan wasn't actually labeled as a Shogun Warrior, but as part of the otherwise-nonexistent "World's Greatest Monsters" line. Never released anywhere else, quite rare, and expensive for a toy, the thing's like plastic, wing-flapping gold.

I'm not a fan of the Shogun stuff myself, but the Rodan is really neat. That stuff was also before my time. Vinyl is more my style.

I don't really collect the 8" Bandai stuff, but I do have GMK Godzilla and Tokyo SOS Mothra (I only want a FW Gigan and Kiryu in that scale, and I'm done). The rest of my stuff is 6" scale.

Godzilla 1973
King Caesar
Mechagodzilla 1975
Gigan 1972
Mothra Larva
Jet Jaguar
Gigan 2005

Toys Dream Project Godzilla 1975 vs. Titanosaurus
Bandai Creation Gigan 1972

I prefer the late Showa stuff and like Heisei stuff the least, so it helps that most of Bandai's Heisei toy sculpts are crap, especially Spacegodzilla. I could still use those newer 6" Kiryu, Mothra, and FW Godzilla figures, though.

My Ultra Monsters collection, on the other hand, is now at least twice the size of my Godzilla stuff. :) Includes more exclusive stuff too!

Hmm, Toys R Us still has a couple Space Godzilla's and a Mechagodzilla II. But I'm holding out for clearance on him and GMK Godizlla, cause they had like 10 of those(like that'll ever happen..), cause Space G I've never really thought was great(partially due to only having seen the second half of the movie, set it up to tape at the wrong time, and it hasn't been on a station I get since. My bro DVR'd it for me, and I'm gonna have to find time to go to his place to transfer it to DVD-R). Mechagodzilla's another kinda eh cause I have a Trendmasters figure.

Didn't stop to see if the FW Gigan was still there, but I did stop at K-Mart, and I picked up Angurias, cause he's my favorite character. I'm not the biggest fan of the look(mostly due to the uniformly painted back/spines, which is prevalant even on the Japanese version), but beggers can't be choosers, and it's cool. They also had a Rodan, Space G, couple GMK Godzilla's, and GMK Ghidorah. I might still get a Gigan cause I dont' have a figure of him at all in a couple weeks and then put my Godzilla figure collecting back on hold again.

Oh yeah, I forgot I have a Godzilla figure from the '98 movie, and a couple figures and vehicles too. I got slashing claw Godzilla or something. He looks about to scale with Angurias.

And thanks for the info provided.

Also, since Rodan was brought up:

Sweet... just for the hell of it, I'm gonna keep an eye on that $46 Rodan. I'm sure it'll shoot out of my price range, but one never knows.

Still more comparison shots of the Godzillas. How Hedorah continues to elude proper photographic comparison is odd.
