:BOT: (Posted this last night but got deleted)

Hasbro is celebrating the 25th Anniversary of GI Joe: A Real American Hero with 25 newly sculpted figures! And they've added more articulation.

Each day Hasbro will reveal the first 10 figures daily. So far, they look great! :CON:

:o Wow. It's almost like they took aspects of the SA Star Wars figures and the Marvel Legends for these figures. Will they be available in stores, or strictly online? Between Transformers Classics and these, I'm tempted to sell off all my other newer TFs and GI Joe figures.

I wonder if this line will continue until most of the major characters are done? At least the first few years, being that there are so many "classic" characters from those times. Baroness, Major Bludd, Doc, Blowtorch, Shipwreck, etc.

Hasbro added more figures to that page! Man, they really know how to drain an 80s child's wallet!

I don't see Cobra Commander yet... :???:

Then there's also the less ZOMG SECRET method.

It sucks because the real figures won't look this good. Hasbro no longer is able to fool me into thinking their products look that nice.

Yes you can get away with it now since they released all the pics officially

If they release 10 pics a day, then it was never a secret today in the first place. :???: It's not like Hasbro was going out of their way to hide it either.

Baroness's glasses are poorly done, but otherwise they're very nice.

I'll get another Scarlet just to repaint as Mara Jade.

Hehe thanks ;) Now I see, though, that CC's name is at the bottom of that news page, but his image is missing. Unless my browser is messing something up.

Looking through these pictures, I think the only concern I would have is whether they can sit down properly. They have a sort of ExoSquad figure type waist, which makes their legs assume some Kama Sutra-esque poses instead of simply keeping their legs straight out in front of them. ;) And waist articulation...

I still say Storm Shadow's lower legs look REALLY messed up.

On some boards they could get in trouble posting these

I didn't want to post it until they were officially up on the Hasbro site

I didn't want to get the board or Ryan in trouble

I think it's because Stormy has double-jointed knees (like many of the male figures, apparently). And whoever posed the toy for the photograph didn't bend the knees at the "proper" joint. In other words, the upper joint should have been bent for the leg to look more natural in that pose. ;)

If you noticed, Cobra Commander's name was listed on the page, despite the lack of image. An error on Hasbro's part does not constitute the same thing as being prototype information or what have you. There was nothing wrong, and if Ryan can't get in trouble from all the links to prototype movie toys over the past months, an officially released image that Hasbro screwed up the listing for isn't going to cause them to bat an eye at this.

ON the topic at hand, I know exactly what you mean about the hip joints, Spike. The miniature Halo figures that come with the vehicles (at least the one I've got, a promotional Halo 2 minifig) do the same thing, which makes me question how well they work with the vehicles in the first place.

Otherwise, I'm a bit excited about these myself. If the pictures are anything to go by, and I hope they are, I'd definitely not mind picking up Destro, Snake-Eyes and Storm Shadow.

Funny on one board I get scrutinized for almost posting the pics and on another I get scrutinized for not posting them

That gung ho figure looks like Gerald McRaney. Nice touch with Cobra Commander and his classic laser gun.

So...
Zartan?
Major Blood?
Can/will they do a new Sgt. Slaughter?
General Hawk?
Flint?
Crimson Guard?
Will they do the easy double shot of Tomax and Xamot?
Lady Jaye?

Fortunately it'll only be 25 figures.

The discussion is ended since they have released the pix so drop it.

Please keep graphic comments like this to your self as we were notified by someone that thought your comment was a "bit too much" for a board that kids post on.

They all look sweet. I want quite a few of them. Hopefully they will release a Shipwreck and a Flint. I might just get them all.
