I consider Dead Metal's sig in the above link to be too large - a picture and two quote boxes.

I thought there was some kind of size limit in place here?


I have nothing against Dead Metal, I don't even know him but it annoys me seeing large signatures that I can't even turn off.

The image size is within the limits, it's just vertical instead of the typical horizontal.

I'm not sure what the limit to text in a Sig is but obviously he hasn't reached it yet...

There is an option on our profiles to turn off Sigs.. maybe it doesn't work, don't know never tried it.

As far as I understood it, orientation isn't a factor; I think you're supposed to have no more than one image, with a max height of 300 px and a width of no more than 500 px. It wouldn't make sense to allow pics of 500 px high "as long as it's no more than 300 wide".

There do seem to be a lot of people with overbig sigs. Of course, I think the sig guidelines are only displayed in two or three forums, which doesn't help...

Then what are we waiting for? Let's play stool pigeon and report them to the mods!

Careful guys, Ryan's already killed two forums because of people griping and being stressful/annoying. Draw too much attention to the sigs that are pushing the limits and we might not have sigs for long! Which would actually make the threads easier to read as a whole, but sometimes looking at people's crazy sigs is lots of fun.

Then don't trouble Ryan about it.

That's what he has other Mods and Admins for, to handle this sort of thing.

I find it disappointing that every few months there needs to be reminder notices given about sigs. Then again, if I join a forum, the sig guidelines is often one of the first things I look for.

Now if only some of those who have two or more images in their sig thought like that ...
