Do you believe in love at first sight?

Well do you?

Ever just looked at someone and said to yourself,

"Damn, that is the girl for me"

I have-

Almost three years ago i was at a gig my mate was playing, I was in the middle of the mosh pit breaking skulls when suddenly the crowd parted. Across the far side of the room i could see the most fabulous looking punk/goth girl. Little black mini skirt, red tights with fishnets over them big boots and other great things that rhythms with boots.

I stopped dead in my tracks and grabbed my mate Fish by the arm and said to him. "Dude I am getting that girl"

I ended up going to a party in her house that night, I talked to her every day for a while after and started going out with her a week later.

We have been together ever since.

Anywho that is my story, i like it-Kerry hates when i tell it. So anyone else have an opinion, similar tale, or do you think that romance is a load of crapola?

Will do-he actually prefers Carnage because Carnage is Venoms son, like he is my son-cuteness

Carnage is awesome!
Once he's old enogh you suld get him reprints of Carnage It's a beautiful world!
That is one of em clasic tales!
Oh the god old times as they still had cool stories!
The last good story with em was Venom VS Carnage, brining in Toxin, making way for his solo story which is one of my fav modern comics!
I just love the Symbiots, and hate Spider-Man 3.
Oh I'm derailing this thread, sorry!

I don't know... I kinda believe it.

A little while back, I started to talk to this girl at work who I sort of liked. After hanging out with her and all that, I started to really like her. We had lots of things in common, made each other laugh a lot. And what was really great, was that we really felt comfortable around each other.

And now, I'm actually going out with this girl. It's great, I think she's the best. I really like her a lot.

It wasn't love at first sight, but it was something. And hey, I'm with her now. And I'm loving every second of it!

I'd like to believe it, but it hasn't happened for me yet. Maybe I still need to wait a couple more years...

No.

There is only a phisical atraction on first sight, are you going to notice a trainwreck of a girl and think "wow she´s my other half"? Of course not.

But don´t take my word for it, I´m just a cynical, single represed SOB... :P

That's exactly what I thought when I read his first post. Love at first sight? Nah. Lust at first sight, quite possible. But it surely can't be love without knowing the in's and out's of that person. Her likes, dislikes, attitude, personality, outlook, lots of things. So if you see a girl and jump to saying "I love her" and you know nothing about her, you're confusing lust with love. Love should be something that evolves in a relationship, because that's what ultimately brings you together forever.

So there's the long version of my previous "No." answer. So once again, no. :P

What about instinct, gut feelings and fate/faith?

I have been with a lot of girls who i knew really well adn it never worked, i fell head over heels for a stranger and couldnt be happier

Of course it could just be dumb luck

I believe in lust at first sight but there is no such thing as love at first sight

How do you love a person on looks alone?

They could be a serial killer as far as you know

Again (not trying to force my ideas but) what about gut feelings? Heart? Surely in this instance that must count for something?

I have had tonnes of girls, loads of hotties, but only once have i said

"Damn I have to have her"

And it has worked better than I thought anything could, maybe i lucked out, maybe if u sleep with enough girls eventually ull hit teh jackpot but i'd like to think that it is something deeper

You didn't know them romanticly until you dated them, and that's when it didn't work out. You can be friends with someone and still not know how that person would be in a relationship.

Fate , instinct, and faith mean nothing as far as I care. Biological drives mean much more and can be studied.

Yeah, I was into that one chick til I opened her fridge to get a beer, and saw all those severed heads in there.

hmmmmmm that seems kinda cold and rather unromantic-I think that aside from in cardiology that science and the heart should probably stay seperate

There are a lot of things that should be held separate from science.

Basically anything that is in the slightest metaphysical.

I don't. We're animals. We behave like animals, and we mate with the same purpose as animals. Romance however is a personal view. The actual act of mating insuring the species continues has always been biological.

Lust attracts males to females.

How? I really dont know, but i stuck with (and was totally faithful to)an abusive whore for over 4 years-so i guess anything is possible.

As for the biology aspect true we are animals-but we behave in very unnatural ways when it comes to sexuality and romance-for one thing we have romance! i am pretty sure that out side of lady and tramp animal dating is pretty basic (obviously aside from the ritualistic mating rituals)-

We may have begun as animals but i believe that we are more than the sum of our parts

Well, I met my future husband at a George Jones/Travis Tritt concert back in 2002. I was actually crying while Travis Tritt was singing a sad song, because I lost my bf just a few weeks earlier. There were thousands of young men at the concert and I hadn't talked to one of them. Suddenly this cowboy comes up to me and starts talking. For some reason we hit it off immediately, and for a few moments my life didn't hurt so badly. It took a few months before we started dating, because I finally decided to move to the area where this cowboy lived (an army base my dad was stationed at). He called me up one day out of nowhere and found out I lived here. Five years later, we are married and have two kids. We've never broken up and have survived two deployments. We love each other deeply and there's no sign of trouble anywhere.

I wouldn't say it was love at first sight, but we were crazy for each other from the moment we started dating. We still are crazy for each other. :D

Just being hot doesnt equate to love at first sight-I anit that shallow even in my regular non-love dating life i have chased my fair share of chubbies-personality does play a part.

But when u see someone and ur insides squeal the second u lay eyes on them u know ur on to a good thing.

I have seen some amazing chicks, but only once have my insides give that squeal
