Ok, I live 40 miles west of Birmingham, Al and today we had severe storm weather. We got let out of school early and everything. We were watching the news and south of us a school gym's roof had collapsed killing several people.

Didn't know you lived in this fine state too, Neko!
I know I know...it's terrible isn't it? I'm about 40 miles East of Birmingham. I'm in Oxford, Alabama to be precise.
We're just now hearing the rumbles of thunder in the distance.... We had it pretty rough early on in the day too, driving to work at 5 am in torrential rain with enough lightning to render headlights almost unessential isn't my idea of fun.
Glad to hear you're safe, Neko.

It was crazy!
I was on the bus and the driver told us County schools were closed due to the weather. Everyone was complaining because County schools get out whenever there's like a 10% chance of a tornado and they always freak out about it.
Well if we got out of school we'd loose our weather day (a day off), because it's required to have 180 days of school by law. So our principal got creative and kept us till 12:30 and let us loose. Because after 11:30 it's considered a full day.
So not only did we have a half day, but we get to keep our weatherday too.

Those things are scary. I've been through 3 minor ones, and that was 3 times too many.
