Explosion on the opposite side of the sun

Yesterday, something on the far side of the sun exploded, hurling a bright coronal mass ejection (CME) into space.
This is the second day in a row that a CME has rocketed into view from behind the sun's eastern limb. (Movies: Jan. 24, Jan. 25) An active sunspot must be lurking just around the corner. It should appear in a few days when the sun's rotation carries that part of the sun into view. Stay tuned for solar activity.

Yeah and once he is done being so preoccupied as the President, he can then truly cause havoc of the likes that we never even imagined possible.

*shiver*

Eh either drunken aliens or another NASA probe was given bad directions.

Ah, well. We all must die sometime.

Who knows? Our next president could be something even worse! :!:

Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) happen all the time during the 22 year solar cycle. All that happened was charged particles (high energy electrons and ions) where trapped in a coiled magnetic field, and after a certain amount of build up, the particles eject. The largest effect that they give is a slight warming trend, and if they are directed right at Earth, there might be power hiccups.

Naw, it was just the destruction of Prime's ship as it drifted into space.....reason unknown.......I don't wanna die...... :P

It is a curse...multiple astronomy classes and an intense astrophysics class.

Trust me, deriving the equation of the magnetic feild made by the sun and how it coils over time is not fun.

Not at all like the integral from 10 to 13 of 2x.

int(2*x,x,10,13) = 169-100 = 69 easy, how about the indefinite integral of e^(x^2) ;)

the integral of e^(x^2) is [[e^(x^2)]/(2x)] + C, where C is the unknown constant.

Incorrect, e^(x^2) cannot bet solved quantitatively, only numerically. It is one of those wonderful expressions that calc1 students loathe.

Why? Because it's off-topic or it causes trouble?

There's only been one mention, and it was in jest, so....?

Because it does not belong in the GD area. It belongs in the philosophers forum.

One little comment can steer a thread in another direction.

Not to mention a PM about it..

LIAR!!!

Deriving equations is all kindsa funzies!!!

Also, don't excited electrons produce blue light?

e^x^2 ?

It's too late for me to do maths. I hate e. It's such a horrible constant.

PS I guess this is Meganecrobumping then, huh?
