Writing a (request) letter to TakaraTomy.

I've written a request e-mail to Takara about 5 years ago -- in English -- but can't remember how I got to the Contact link.

I'm not quite sure how to maneuver about their new site -- which is beyond difficult when you don't know enough Japanese to rub 2 words together.

Long story short -- I'm trying to get Takara to re-issue Thunderwing (in a Republiconish effort to drive the price down). I'd love to get my hands on one, but simply don't have $100 to throw at a $30-40 problem.
Moreover, about 50% of the 1989 Transformers had decal paper problems. My Pretenders Bumblebee, Starscream, Legends Grimlock, and several decaled Micromasters had this problem where the printed foil portion of the decal would seperate from the paper portion of the decal -- which carried the decals' glue. After a worse case scenario, the consumer would end up with a bald paper decal stuck on the toy in the shape of the original paper and foil decal. By 1990, they seemed to have resolved the decal problem.
Anyway, to make a long story short, I'd like to see (original) Thunderwing and (original) Springer re-issued. If not, see if they could make a Classics version of Thunderwing using the Ramjet body (with a Starscream nosecone and missile launchers). I just hope they can read my plea if I put it into English -- again.

P.S.: My last request was for Smokescreen to be re-issued.

I'm sure they can read english. As far as I know, most Japanese are fluent in English. And after all, Takara packaging always has English on it.

If you find the contact link again, can you request a reissue of Overlord or Victory Saber?

I would be happy to.
Overlord I want badly and cannot afford -- some guy on a Magic card board offered me a Overlord (he was expected around $300) for it, but I'd have to unload my entire collection of cards -- plus shipping to and from Portugal -- in order to come close to that amount. And since I'm not a Magic nut (with 2,000+ cards older than Beast Wars), I'd probably be shortchanging him!
If nothing else, Mega and Giga would be nice substitutes for having Darkwing with no Throttle!

Also, I wonder how the Brainmasters (and Chestmasters/Breastforce) would have been interpreted in the States.

Don't waste your breath. They already said no. The bootleggers have already done enough damage on the market with their sets.

However, the same company that's been making the Swoop, Mirage and Wheeljack bootlegs in the original G1 boxes, is making a full set of Devastator, packaging and all.

It should be just about done. So we should be seeing them on eBay anytime soon.

1st Highlight. Yet for some reason Hasbro sees no problem with just repainting Bruticus over and over again. And the bootleg market only exists because Takara won't reissue the originals. I never could understand why they just don't grasp that.

2nd highlight. That Devastator looks promising, but from what we've heard it's going to cost about as much as a real one so the set really doesn't help at all.

Explaining Takara is next to impossible. KISS Players come to mind.

I would LOVE to see justification on this.

As far as i know, they aren't fluent in English.. They can understand Katakana (which is a direct derivation from English words) but full English sentences? No.

I can see it now...

"Wow. Why American say he is Overlord of the United Spaces of Paprika?"

"This why I drink Sake."

That's not Takara, that's Japan. KISS Players aren't weird to them.
