Hrm....it feels like a database issue, but I'm not enough of a DB admin to help from outside like this. And I feel for y'all dealing with this with the added variables of other changes which may be bringing up unrelated symptoms. But, to add to the symptoms..
I just experienced what Sabrblade was describing in this 3P thread:
fansproject-lost-exo-realm-dinobots--p1909561.php#p1909561I proceeded to the post from a link provided in my email notification. The poster of the linked post is on my block list. Since I had just posted I decided to see if he was responding directly to me, so I clicked the "Display this post" link. The next screen was the 404 not found. (I was able to read the post by starting a new post and looking at the Topic Review pane.)
Again, I don't know that this is helpful, but what I know of databases, this feels like a table (or several) is out of sync with other DB tables causing created links to be off and sending clickers to oblivion instead of the intended link. Just a feeling.
*sheepish grin*
[Edit] Two things to add. Here is the specific error wording:
Seibertron.com wrote:Not Found
The requested URL /energonpub/fansproject-lost-exo-realm-dinobots--t100892s875.php&p=1909561&view=show was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Second, I posted after the blocked sender to see if clicking the "Display this post" link would work and it didn't.
