~warning: i'm on a run-on sentence spree~

i know there is an admin., and mods but is there anyway to make "police" like member who have been with the forum a whilethat are serious poster and have a good reputation to watch the forums and lock the spam threads and to edit "hurtful" posts BUT they cant ban people.... they have to report them to the mods which are the ones who will choose who to ban and who not to...... i was just asking cause not all the mods can be on all the time and some of the mods i dont see on this site anymore.... but you can do what ever you want with this idea i just thought that it might help ryan bring this site's reputation back up instead of a troller's paradice....

Trust me d00d, there's plenty of mod wannabes already...

We had one. And he was banned for it.

And what you just described? That's what a Mod IS. Admins are the ones who wield the Almighty Banhammer.

We had a bunch. They were the GDPD. I was one of them. Only two of us still post on this site, and the one besides me is now in a more important position than the GDPD. I will not name names.

No, Ryan had to shut down Carbombya because a couple of arseholes had caused excess headaches for him.

Wouldn't call it a spammer's paradise either. Honestly, it's good of you to want to help but I don't think things are as bad as you make them out to be.

Believe me when I say things have been far worse.

I've seen so many duplicate threads in that forum it is unbelievable. If it happens in other forums on site, the offending threads get locked......Which leads me to believe that there is little control in there. What's really weird is that he was the name I was thinking of.

This thread has the chance to get ugly real fast. I'm going to keep it open for now though.

I agree the movie forum could use more presence and we're working on that. We also rely a little on the community to report stuff to us. We are only human after all

Bingo. If you folks keep seeing threads "which were all about rc 4 tf2!!!lol111 and multiple who do you want for tf2!!!" then PM one of us to bring it to our attention. There are around 250 topics today that people have posted in. That's hard to keep track of. So if you want to help, don't talk about a bunch of multiple threads in some complaint topic. Instead, tell us so we can rectify the problem.

This also goes for spambot threads. Don't just say "oh hey look at the spam" in the topic. That doesn't help anyone and just makes you look like you're just adding to the spam. Tell one of us so we can come along and lock it.

Technically we're all on the Seibertron Police as Mkall and TheMuffin said.

We all need to contribute, and not buy into the easy way of flaming the poster for doing it, and instead, just PM someone to take care of it. Do we all get cool badges and lock thread powers. Nu uh, because that would be chaotic...

However, we can all just work with the already existing staff and point them in the right direction, and do our best to not fall into the 'crucify the dumb noob' state of mind.

If it makes you feel better, you could put in your sig that you are a 'Seibertron Mod Snitch/Squeelor/_____________'.

A lot of common sense,this board is really peaceful and most
logical compared to a lot of boards. Police not really. There
will be enough complaints about somebody who thinks they're
better than all else. Admin can lock out. Good guys/gals keep
an easy enviornment. Otherwise all's well. Mucho for the
what if? Most places don't give two hoots or turn things to

We oppose any thread that attacks a member. It should be handled through PM's and Mod talk, not in a thread where a mob can form and lynch someone.

It's a real shame that Carbomya bit the bullet.
I've only started using it recently, and now that it's gone tf collecting will get harder and more expensive again.

This was back in 2004 when this thread was posted the mods were different and seemed to like Wrecka
