Out of a Job...Again

This bites.

Just got this job on my birthday in August, and the company sold to a different one at the beginning of October, and we were told that that our department would not be effected. Well, guess what? At the end of the shift today we had a meeting where we were told that effective immediately our entire department was being shut down, and we did not need to report to work anymore.

I just can't win.....

None of the banks here are hiring, I checked. I do have an interview for retail today at 3pm. Since I spent 2 years as an assistant store manager, I think I'll qualified.

I'll be in the same boat soon. My contract is up at the end of November. At least I've got time to prepare. Tonight, I become Kraven the Job-Hunter.

Well, I got the retail job. The bad part is it's minimum wage ($6.85 in Ohio) and is only 15 hours a week, but at least now I have a little income until I can get full time.

Since it's getting closer to the Christmas season, you may be able to find seasonal employment until something you really want comes your way. That's what I did 4 years ago when I was laid off from my job, about this exact time of year. I stocked shelves and helped unload the trucks at Toys R' Us until I found a full-time job.

Trust me man, I feel your pain.

Ok, get this, I now have 2 jobs. I now work full time starting Monday at a warehouse and weekends at Big Lots. This is on top of going to college full time, too.
