ITs crap. Bad. No character development, no explanation of where the damn things come from, it isnt a gore movie for anyone hoping it is. And the ending is just.....trash. Its bad. Wait for the rental. I can just tell you the movie script in one post if you like lol.

For starters, it's a comic book movie. Based on a relatively obscure comic book, to be precise. (At least, when in comparison to Spider-Man, Batman, Superman, etc.)

The premise is that in Alaska, night lasts for a whole month. (Given the tilt of the Earth) Vampires, seeing a way to be able to feed without worrying about deadly sunlight, head out to a small Alaskan town, and begin feeding to their undead heart's content.

That's pretty much all I know, really. Although I do know how it ends, I'll be nice and not spoil it for you.

it sucks. don't bother seeing it, or "resident evil." go spend your money on a good movie, like "american gangster."

The first Resident Evil was pretty good. Apocalypse was good, but not quite as good as the first. And I haven't seen the third movie. (Last movie I saw in theaters was Transformers last July)

I think Paul WS Anderson has the unique ability to make a good first movie (Mortal Kombat!!) and not-so-good sequels. (Mortal Kombat: Annihilation!!)

I hope to God, Buddha, Odin, and Spongebob Squarepants that Castlevania doesn't suck.

Hell, it's a Japanese series, let's throw in Amaterasu onto that list.

I saw it, not really because I thought it would be interesting, but because I actually live in Barrow (the town it's set in), so I just wanted to see the differences. So this is what I came up with:

The Barrow in the movie is probably based on Barrow from the 50's, the town is about 3-4 times larger (physically) today.

The movie lists the population as 500 some, and 150 during the winter...the thing is, Barrow actually has a population of 4000, and the population goes down during the summer more than the winter.

The Utilidor is not a huge building, it's a series of underground halls under the ground that carry the plumbing and electricity throughout the city.

The title itself is actually wrong, there aren't 30 days of night, it's actually 3 months of pure darkness (as in the summer, it's 3 months of pure light).

Other than that, there's just minor things...the don't have diners, we don't have bars (Barrow is a 'damp' town, alcohol is only allowed by way of legal permit), you cannot drive out, the only way is to fly (Oh, and we have an Alaska Airlines terminal up there now too).

I guess the only similarity we have to the movie version are the vampires...but our vampires don't look like the ones in the movies...anyways...

I thought the movie sucked as a movie itself.
