Since I was an army brat, I was born in Italy, and have lived in Florida, Virginia, Hawaii, Tennessee, Kentucky, and finally, North Carolina. I've lived in some great places!

I do not forget about Washington. When I tell people exactly where I live, they always ask on how far is it to Portland. It is the only thing that they can think of with Oregon.

Yep, that's pretty much my experience, except with Boston. People always ask, "Are you near Boston?" I tell them, "Depends on whether you classify an hour-and-three-quarters drive as 'near' or not."

I am not the only one.. *wipes sweat off of my forehead*. I tell them that it is a good 5 to 6 hours from Portland. I have made this drive once or twice and it is tiring.
