You mean without the silly giggles and purple knock-out gas plans and more insane creepy murderous clown rage?

And, from the Trailer I just saw, he can do the Mark Hamill Joker Laugh really damn good.

if you go to
http://whysoserious.com/ and click the picture underneath (be prepared for the creepy voice) you can see what looks like the "true" joker.

True, but the Mark Hamill Joker laugh is creepy awesome.
The Ceaser Romero one was just silly.

My first impression is:
Lame. Weak sauce. He looks like a hobo with a half-assed paint job.
My second impression is:
Interesting. I can imagine the kind of acting that could go along with that, and I can't wait. He looks like a hobo with a half-assed paint job.
Can he beat out Jack? All I know is, I thought Batman Begins looked stupid as hell from the previews, and so did a lot of other people, and now look.

Well I hope it was all worth it. According to what I had read online, Ledger was pushed to his breaking point playing Joker and wouldn't want to do it again.
Said it was too emotionally and physically draining, not to mention a really sick character at the core.
Which, is precisely what Joker's supposed to be. I mean, a homicidal killer (serial?) with a smile painted on his face like a clown (hence "The Clown Prince") is a sick, sick man.
If this is done right, we might be looking at the best film interpretation of Joker that we'll ever see.
You don't want to go too far with it because you'll only appease the comic fans and alienate the rest. You don't want to go too easy on it, because then you'll end up with a milquetoast Joker who would have his hind handed to him on a silver platter and that's no fun.

I hated Nicholson's Joker- he was Caesar Romero with a gun, basically.
Unsure of the look of this one, but otherwise, I reckon he'll be okay.

I like it. Everyone raves about Jack Nickolson's protrayal of the Joker, and that was really good. He brought out some of his character. But Heath Ledger's rendition looks to be more accurate to the comic w/ some realism in terms of not looking overweight. I wonder if he can pull off the characteristics too. He looks wicked too.

It's really starting to grow on me.
He looks like a hobo with a half-assed paint job, and the more I think on it, the more I think that's perfect.
I know what we're gonna get for this Joker, a totally out of left field, genius, reinvention. Remember what they did with Scarecrow? Remember how they took a boring unknown villian like Ras Al Gul and made him
awesome?Damn it. I'm looking forward to this movie now. I thought I learned that lesson with Spiderman 3. Cant... let it... happen again....
****. It happened. I'm officially excited for a movie again.

It looks too "real-life" serial killer rather than supervillian serial killer.

I thought the same thing, with the dirty clothes and all. The Joker always seemed to be a guy with a messed up face, but otherwise clean-cut and childishly evil at the core.

That's because Nolans' movies aren't supposed to superhero esque. They're supposed to be more grounded in reality. So this works very well.
