We had the mother of all ice storms last January. We measured 3 inches of ice on our patio. We had power out everywhere. We were fortunate enough that it was only 2 days. I know people who were out for 3 weeks. We have another ice storm on the way! I was hoping maybe it was going to be just a little bit before it turned to snow. Nope the weather man said tonight that it was looking like another paralyzing ice storm like we had in January. No no no! We cannot have 2 major ice storms in one year. I want to move to Kansas City where they get the snow not the ice.

And during the summer, don't forget about those hurricanes.

I know. But if there's no power, then there's not going to be any wireless ports to connect to.

"Wireless" dowsn't mean it can connect anywhere. It only means it doesn't need cables to hook up to a router.

and the wireless router needs power to run.

We survived the first night! The power has flickered a couple times but stayed on  Last night it stormed , the downpour was freezing rain. I thought for sure I would get up to no power. I guess it is not freezing enough for all the rain to stick to the trees and power lines. The bad news is that they are saying this will go on for 3 days before turning to snow :-(

Be happy with what you have, at least you aren't freezing without power. But there's a good thing, snow. Look forward to that.

I got some pictures off the news http://www.ky3.com/younews

We have some tree branches that came down but last years storm pretty much wiped out the trees. Our power flickered like crazy yesterday but it never went out. It looks like we got maybe an inch of ice, not nearly as bad as we got in January. It seems the power outages were worst in the area's that were spared in January's ice storm. People in Springfield went into a panic at the mention of another ice storm on the way and bought up all the generators. My husband said that they will have a huge sale when all these people bring back the generators.
