I found the original on Netflix and just got finished watching an episode. (Adorable, btw) So I did a Wiki search and turned up info on the movie.

Animated by Imagi Studios (TMNT) and I have to say...it looks incredible.

I can't wait to see this.

still, this at least looks better than what i was expecting. i thought they were going to do a "real-world" version, and make it like spy-kids or something. should be entertaining.

I hated that show, my first thought when I saw it was “Oh look, dumb astroboy / Gigantor knock off” that would be like saying they should have made a beast tech fighter movie (funny little tf knock offs they sell at big lots for $2 each) instead of transformers.

As much as I like Astroboy, and will probably end up seeing this movie. If only Imagi did a Megaman movie instead.

Or the next TMNT. I'm getting antsy from not hearing anything about the next one.

No. It's CGI animation. Some of it looks real enough, however.
Imagi would be perfect for something like this, because Astroboy's always been animated and transitioning to CGI is the next logical evolution.

TMNT on the other hand, was a dismal and depressing move for me. Granted they started out in animation, and continue in animation...for most of the early 90's...they were real. They were live action and brought to life and we ate it up like candy. We finally saw our heroes walk out of the ink and paint and into the real world and it rocked hard...to the core.

....then Imagi took them back to animation (incredible looking, mind you) and it just didn't feel right to me. Not to mention that the humans were slightly exaggerated (which didn't help matters in my book, either.)

I have many high hopes that Astroboy will kick butt and take names and look incredible doing so.

2008 is full of great movies, but 2009 is becoming even more tempting, especially so, if TF2 finally comes out.

Ok, i get it. Like Toy Story kind of CGI.

The show was far from a "knock off" of Gigantor and Astroboy.

It was an homage to Astroboy and Gigantor.

But you know, with more depth and less annoying voices.
