Here's a nice little nugget for your research:

One of these guys was accused of kidnapping and imprisoning a woman in his house for rape. Turns out it wasn't him, but his buddy, and he was there the whole time as well, not trying to stop it.

Oh and someone got a fractured skull at one of thier concerts when they threw a sheep head they had just cut off into the crowd.

This happened at a Mayhem concert, and did not involve Gorgoroth. Great band that they are, Gorgoroth has enough trouble of thier own and probably don't need any more negative press.

I, by the by, love Gorgoroth and their crazy shenanigans.

Speaking of Mayhem, I always found it fascinating how one of the members of the band blew his brains out and when upon discovering the corpse the other band members bought a camera, took a picture of it and used it for their album cover.

Very kvlt.

And another made a skull-fragment necklace and brain stew.

At least one of them is a rapist. I'll give them all the negative press I want. Great shenanigans.

That album cover is a bootleg. They didn't authorize it.

(Though they probably didn't have a problem with it)

Yeah, one of them did get locked up for rape. So did one of the guys from Satyricon, I just don't remember who.

I do love the band but they are always in some kind of legal trouble. The bad press thing was just a joke, really. Bands like this thrive on bad press.

I'm not sure which former member of Satyricon got sent to jail for rape, but Frost wasn't allowed in the States the last time they toured over here.

He was denied a work visa.

That could be why.

An interesting note though,

in 2005 Exhurtum attempted suicide by jumping off a five-story building.

He managed to live, but broke both of his legs permanently, and he's now paralyzed from the waste down.

I don't know which guy it was either, but it wasn't Frost. IT was like their touring guitarist who I don't think is officially a member of the band. Just the hired help.

Everyone that has worked with Satyricon was hired help

Except for Satyr and Frost of course because they are Satyricon

Ozzy mistakenly bit the head off a bat.

and was piss drunk when he bit the head off of the dove.

I think there is a huge difference between what these black metal bands' deeds and Ozzy's

Yes. Ozzy was a shock rocker style guy, and now it's just shocking that he's still alive and kicking the dead horse of his career.

The black metal guys are much more of the real deal.

Pretty much. That lead singer who blew his brains out kept rotting animals in his freezer that he would wip on his cloths before a concert to feel more in touch with the dead, and actually left a note saying, "Sorry for the mess mates-- knives were to dull-- had to use the shot gun" as his suicide note.

He said "Sorry for all the blood." And he would bury his clothes in the ground several weeks prior to the tour so they would be all mud saturated and wormy. Then he found a dead raven so he scooped it up and put it in a bag, and would inhale the smell before the show. One time he cut himself so bad on stage that he had to go to the hospital.

Mayhem has pictures of severed hands on one of their covers, looks like some kind of POW footage or something, and a pigeon tangled in barb-wire. Imagery of harming heavenly things is one thing, but torturing a real animal is another. Sometimes it looks plastic to me, like maybe it's from some kind of Christmas decoration or something, but I'm betting on real.

The music is so awesome, but so many of these guys were the worst kind of perverts and dead-beat deusch bags. Sometimes it takes people like that to make awe-inspiring stuff, but you have to know the history and realize the truth. Appreciating the music is one thing, but you have to know what you're dealing with, and if you had any kind of empathy at all, you'd think twice about a lot of it, even if you do end up still listening to it.
