That's actually a question for TFmaster. Most of the data from all of the forums I will be able to import. If you guys have general discussion posts, I can import all of those into the General discussion forum on SEIBERTRON. I don't see any reason why we shouldn't lose all of those conversations. Unfortunately, some of them might get pushed back or get lost simply because the forums here don't get as much traffic. I might do something to make those topics unique like put a flag in the database that says it's from Transtopia OR I might put a prefix in the subjects like "Transtopia Post:" or "TT:" just so you guys can search for the content.

On that note, I think it just dawned on me how I'm going to handle the accounts. I'll import all of the usernames after I make a new field in the database that backs up your original usernames from here. I could write a script on SEIBERTRON.com that lets you enter your Transtopia username and password and if you have a SEIBERTRON.com account, you'll be able to merge the two accounts and the script will update all of your posts. It'll be a bit hectic but it's certainly not anything that I can't do. By doing that, we can maintain all of the accounts and you guys will be able to merge your Transtopia accounts with your SEIBERTRON.com accounts all on your own to ensure data integrity.

How does that sound guys?

For the most part, if you don't have a seibertron account you will just transfer over as you are (providing the name isn't taken) with the option to change your title and if you do have dual accounts you can merge them without losing either of your posting "scores"

Yeah, that's pretty much what I got.
I'm alright, since I've been over there as myself for a good couple of years anyway. No name confusion for me. 8)

I actually registered a few months ago funny enough as a place holder so I could keep the same name when we thought our time was up last time because it seemed like the next best place to go!!! :P (Who knew! other than TFM)

This'll be nice. Seibertron is I think the only major board I've never been part of. No wait, I was. Maybe I have an account. I don't know. Hahaha

I'm hoping eventually things will get a face lift. I was thinking maybe something TFKenkon.com style.

Given how easy to navigate Seibertron's toy galleries are, I wonder if the plan might be to incorporate TT's kitbash and repaint galleries into a similar layout on their site.

It would think from a technical standpoint it would be easier, seeing as how the layout is already there as opposed to creating something from scratch. And anyone browsing would definately have enough thumbnails to go over.

Just wondering...

I'm going to keep the content from the old galleries as well as the content from here but I'm going to completely rewrite the code to a much better user friendly style that will be more beneficial to artists and kitbashers alike. I've been wanting to completely overhaul the creative section on SEIBERTRON so this will give me a great chance to do that.

We'll end up with some new altogether. I might reuse some of the code from my toy galleries but I haven't decided yet. I hope that once I get things going you guys will be able to help provide constructive criticism so that we can make it the best place to showcase your hard work.

Once I get the new foundation in place, I will provide you guys with links to see what you guys think I can improve upon in the code.

My first order of business is to get the Transtopia website into a secure setting so that we can focus on how to do this right. My laptop was hard at work all night last night and this morning when I left for work uploading the files from the current Transtopia site to the SEIBERTRON.com servers.

I've already got all of the database structure in place on my database server so once the files have all been completely uploaded, I will look into transferring the domain name over to the site on my servers. To most of you, it might look like nothing's happening for a few months while I work on all of this custom code but at least Transtopia will be in a secure setting that will allow me to easily update the new code on SEIBERTRON with the content from here.

I will let you guys know if there will be any downtime with this site before I transfer the domain to my servers just so you guys will all know what's going on.

I'm going to come up with some way that will allow you guys to merge multiple accounts together so long as you have the passwords for those accounts. This will be a "fun" challenge indeed.

remy's site has great galleries, but if its just ryan workign on the site maybe an automatic submision could work, he-man.org has a good search and submit feature, it must take ages to make the galeries

another thing i was wondering, not that i want to take anything from seibertron's work, but does anyone here still want a kitbash only forum to stop all those "how do you paint" and "how could you do that to him" comments you find now and again on general forums

It will be an automatic submission thing. What I'm going to do that's different is program it so that certain galleries are featured in something like a "Transtopia Featured Galleries" or something like that so the cream of the crop can really stand out. That will make TFmaster's life incredibly easier as well as Devastator's. The users will perform most of the work, a script will automatically generate the various sized images, and then all the Transtopia staff will have to do is essentially moderate the content which should free them up to do what they enjoy doing as much as you do ... kitbashing and being a part of a community. Let the site work for itself! That's the beauty of programming.

What would you think about a "beginninger's forum" or something like that so people could ask their questions as they're just getting started but it will keep those questions out of the forums for the more experienced kitbash users? Experienced eople who like to help new users could help guide them by pointing them in the right direction to the Transtopia articles or where they could buy the supplies or whatever is necessary to make kitbashes pertaining to the new user's questions. That way if someone doesn't like the questions new people ask, that person doesn't have to be around that environment.

That's what I was thinking. maybe place the Mewbie Introductions in there and then have stickies for the Paint, tools and clay tips and uses for effects and whatnot.

I was also thinking since Scratchbuilding is a lone thing and not to easy to duplicate we also add stickies of the "How To"s for projects that are usually fairly common like the Alt Prime Leg extension for exampile.

See, this is why I made a thread for you guys to post links to helpful sections with tips and the like so we can keep track and find a good place for it to go.

In any case, seeing how much Ryan is busting his ass and trying to do his best to keep as much content as possible and willing to work with you guys on your ideas, do you feel alot better/more comfortable now?

I told you he's a great guy with all our best interests at heart. (Granted the content would also boost his veiwer count but I don't think any of us would be doing this if we didn't get something out of it right?)

He's a great guy and it's good to see you all comming around.

I'm excited to be a part of what just might be the world's largest collection of Transformers kitbash images, 2D artwork and fan fiction. I really want to make this section something special for the entire fandom's creative community.

You guys know that's how SEIBERTRON.com got started, right? I originally planned to use it to showcase my artwork. I wanted my art style to mimic that of the cartoon series which I got down pretty damn good. I bought a bunch of the Rhino VHS tapes back in June 2000, bought a screen capture device and an extra VCR (remember those relics? They preceeded DVD players) and started making thousands upon thousands of screen captures. This was back when screen captures from the TF cartoon series were extremely hard to come by (I think I came up with about 1,300 unique images TOTAL after scouring the internet for about a week while I was at home after I had my tonsils removed). Lo and behold, I realized I had about 5,000 screen captures none of which could be found on the Internet so I setup a GeoCities website on June 26th, 2000 to start sharing the images with everyone. The site was so popular that I bought the SEIBERTRON.com domain later in September 2000 and the rest is history!

I never did get back to working on the comic I had planned. A little something called "SEIBERTRON.com" seems to have sidetracked me. Oh well, one day I'll get around to working on my G1 "The Lost Years" storyline.

This isn't about just a hosting situation ... this is about giving you guys more exposure, taking the programming worries and responsibilities off TFmaster's shoulders, providing better tools for the Transtopia community to use, and so on. TFmaster and I have been talking about this for almost a month (since the first day of BotCon if I recall correctly) ... all that I ask that you guys give me a chance to prove to you that this is going to be a really stellar opportunity for everyone involved. I promise!

Many have offered to host. It was difficult to make a choice so i went with what I was kicking around in my head for awhile. If you take it personal then it's your loss because it wasn't meant that way.

I just chose what I thought would be best. Sorry.
