If I have to drink beer I go for Coors Light. Sam Adams is way too strong for my liking.

Sam Adams is pretty good.
I like Bass Ale.
Your 21 though go to a bar and get some real liquor.
I prefer to do shots of Beef Eater. Your bartender will look at you funny though as gin isn't usually consumed that way.
Wisconsin has some pretty good micro brews. See if you can find some Grey's, most any of those are good. Only way to really find out is to get about 8 different 6packs(bottles)and have a go at them.
Coors is o.k. but it's kinda High School and stay away from High Life. That's almost as juvenile as the Beast.
Being 21 I'm sure this won't be your first drink but now you can stand around in the liquor store and not worry about being thrown out.

I can't really recommend anything in the way of beer. I've never been fond of any kind of beer, just something about the taste that irks me. But if you're going for something light your first time out, maybe try a Smirnoff Ice or Mike's Hard Lemonade.

Miller Lite all the way!

Or for varitity try Lienenkugles Honeyweiss ro Cherryweise. Heiniken ain't to bad either.

Just stay away from the Buds, they're bloody awful.

A good shot to try would be a Freight Train... half jeager and half ammereto, jeager on the bottom.

I used to drink Michelob Dry.. If they still brew Mic Dry give that a shot.

I'm not a beer drinker, but I did try a Sam Adams once and it was okay, since it is stronger than other beers. Don't remember what type it was.

Captain Morgan, Jack Daniels, and 1800 is what I stick to.

Jack Daniel's. Straight up man.

Actually I'm not much of a beer drinker, or much of a drinker at all, but I do like Guiness.

Sam Adams is an awesome beer, but it might be a little strong if you're not used to drinking alcohol.

I personally have a weakness for Corona extra with lime, Sapporo, and Warsteiner.

Mixed drinks? You can't go wrong with Jack and Coke or Captain Morgan and Coke. I also appreciate a strong bourbon by itself.

Not too much of a wine drinker, though. I do drink Beringer occasionally.

And happy birthday, by the way.

Well, Sam Adam's is always a good decision.

Sam Adams
Sam Adams Light
Sam Adams Summer Ale
Sam Adams Octoberfest
Sam Adams Winter Ale
Sam Adams White Ale
Sam Adams Black Ale

The best Sam Adam's is probably Winter Ale. Maybe Black if you really want to drink real beer.

Here are a few beers to try:

Afflingem Triple - nectar of the Gods. They predate the second crusade.
Afflingem Double
Gubernija - Zhiguly Grand
Spaten Premium
Spaten Optimator
Franziskaner Hefe Weisse
Paulaner Original Munich
Weltenburger Kloster Hefe-Weizen Dunkel
Grolsch Green (there's a brown as well, but I haven't had it)
Guiness Draft
Belhaven Brown
Coor Original (but only out of a can, you need that metal taste to truly enjoy the trashy beer.)
Michelob Amber Boch
Red Hook ESB
Red Hook Black Hook
Red Hook Winter Hook
Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale
Sierra Nevada Unfiltered Wheat
Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Ale
Sierra Nevada Summerfest
Big Sky Moose Drool
Big Sky Crystal Ale
Tahoe Red
Tahoe Heife Weizen
Brother David's Triple (the other Triple, almost as good as Afflingem)
Brother David's Double
Henry Weinhardt's Blue Boar
Alaskan Amber
Gordon Biersch Marzen
Gordon Biersch Winterbock
Gordon Biersch Hefeweizen
Breckenridge Avalanche
Breckenridge Hefe Proper
Smuggler's Scottish Ale
Pyramid Snow Cap
Pyramid Hefe Wiezen
Lost Coast Great White
Rock Bottom Brown Bear
Lagunitas Copper Ale
Lagunita's IPA
Lagunita's Censored
Widmer Brothers Heiffe Weizen
Black Diamond IPA
Two Palms Badlands Blonde Ale
Wing Walker Lager
Wing Walker Pale Ale
Wing Walker Amber Ale
Drake's IPA - I swear I taste a weed brownie in there. :-P
Steel Reserve
Maudite
Molson Gold
Pacifico
Dos Aquis Lager
Dos Aquis Amber - Damn the Mexicans know how to brew
Carta Blanca
Sapporo
Foster's Special Bitter

- At least, those are my favorites... :-P

Oh, and when you go to the bar, ask if they'll give you a Screaming Purple Jesus. Don't ask what's in it, and don't listen to what anyone else says. Just get it. :-P

Sam Adams Light is a great beer. It will remind you of a European beer with a full body taste. But if you just turned 21 you should go to a bar with your buddies and do some mixed drinks and fun shots like - B52's, Kamakazi's, Sex on the Beach, and all that good stuff.

Just remember - "Liquor before beer- you're in the clear"
"Beer before liquor- you'll never be sicker"

That's an old wives' tale. It's amount of alchohol. When you're already wasted, and you pound a shot or ten, that adds to what you have and bam. Same thing with beer if you drink enough of it, on an empty stomach, for several hours.

I've packed it in and held it down a few times. I hate puking. One time I was so sick I had to turn down and essentially waste a Fat Tire. It was one of the most tragic moments of my life, and yes I remember it.

Belgian beers are my favorite. Can't go wrong with them.
