Are we losing activity?

EDIT: never mind, the movie's release gave the forum a big boost.

I don't think you or I have the admin. privileges of saying that definitively, but I'd guess things go in spurts and lulls here as far as activity goes. Whenever there is someone doing a huge ambitious project (ie. metroplex, masterpiece dinobots, hearts of steel Megatron) not only are there more random viewers on the board, but also the rest of us kitbashers (or at least myself) tend to get inspired to get back to work on their own projects.

also, I'd say the frontpage being stagnant for months and lack of new galleries might have something to do with it. NOT BLAMING ANYONE. (circumstances being what they are = understandable)

nah, that's been going on for a while now,but the low activity has been for a couple of days.

Well this is my first post in several weeks, not because of lack of interest, more lack of time. I just got a new job and my wife and I just bought a house, so with moving and all its been really hard to come here everyday like I used to. Also maybe because its summer now and lots of people go on vacation and stuff

Another thing that's certainly slowing things down is the fact that new galleries cannont yet be added. That used to generate quite a bit of interest.

cant get galleries. cant get new members.. cant get the site intergrated.. so yeah.. things are slow... even though its a great time for transformers ..

i think we need some group competitions on like the fembot and micromasters, maybe set something up every 3 months, as one closes one opens

even if it doesnt work itl be fun for tt suporters

Cool as that would be, its not going change the fact the new people can't join up anymore. I'm really hoping that after Botcon Ryan has the time to get us either intergrated into Siebertron, or at least brings the sites functionality back up so that this place doesn't die off.

how about if we make a new TT forum we can control ourselves, doesnt have to have a site attacked
we wont loose too much might even be able to transfer this database over to a new server our selves if someone had the database connection info, but its the new site admin that need to make the choices

Theoretically we could. But as long as Ryan gets this integration sorted out in the not too distant future we shouldn't need to.

Depending on how longit takes, though, it might be something to bear in mind as a possible interim solution...

So while we wait for the integration, should I create a new account at Seibertron & start posting my stuff there? Will the posts from here migrate over? If so, will there be a problem with duplicate project threads when the merger occurs?

Creating an account at Seibertron.com would be a good idea as well as posting your stuff there too. The plan is for posts from here to migrate eventually, but I don't believe the logistics of that have been fully worked out. Do not worry about duplicate threads. Ryan wants us posting there too so there's no way around it for now.

I tired, but it didn't work. I filled out the registration form, but the "Creat Account" button doesn't go anywhere. I just end up with an "errors on the page" message on the bottom of my explorer window.

new accounts have been stopped at this moment in time by ryan hence why we are not getting spam bots at the moment as there is a block on this one thing is possiable is that we could use old accounts for new members in ones which dont use them if needed. but i am sure that ryan made this choice for good reasons.

For once i dont have to get rid of spam bots which is a nice shange at least

IMO Ryan has dropped the ball, and let it roll down a hill, and into a creek, that damned up, the ball got covered in algae and was mistaken as a turtle and shot by some kid, then it sank to the bottom and was buried in mud...

in a sence i agree with that... i know he is busy with his stuff... and that TT is something he took under his wing and totally voluntered to do .. BUT without us being able to get new members , post galleries , and that we "need" to join his site to motivate him to do anything with this.. if he is this far behind.. i dont see it getting any better.. and i believe he should give it up to someone else that is willing to put the heart into it , that this place deserves.....

i dont post here a ton anymore.. but im here at least a dozen times daily to check in.. and still feel that this place is one of my homes on the net..
and i hate seeing it slowly die.. because thats what its doing. and it really saddens me..

so i guess what i have to say is.. either totally kill TT off... so it doesnt just fade away.. or hand over the reigns so someone else can take over and give this place the revamp it NEEDS

i do not think the site is nessacerily dying, more slipping into a comatose state. but you would think that intigrating/doing something with TT would
have a higher priority than another redesign for seibiertron

Well I'm sure part of the problem is Botcon. He's probably spent a good amount of the last month or so gearing up for that, plus he has a job of his own, and integrating this site into Seibertron isn't the easiest thing to do. I'm really hoping he gets it done by the end of July.

yeah, you are right, since i have absolute;y no experience in running/making websites so yeah.

that sentence started well, but deteriorated didn't it?

Problem being i'd register for SB but everytime I do it won't let me as I have a hotmail account, and that is the only email I have (dont want any more!)

If I had just the tiniest bit more knowledge with the technical side to the website i'd take it but I just designed them and coded simply and gave them away to have more indepth stuff done

also i'm really struggling for internet access at the mo as i'm moving and not really gonna be able to get internet straight away in new place so i'm defo gonna be sporadic around here which is a shame.

Hey guys,

Transtopia is in my sights for later this month. I want to get you guys moved over so that we can start featuring all of your hard work throughout Seibertron.com. I'm really excited about this and I feel so bad that it's taken this long to move you guys over officially into the Seibertron.com community.

I haven't quite figured out what to do with the forums nor the logistics of importing the data from here to Seibertron. It's going to be a pain and probably require both forums to be down for a little bit. But I'll figure out something that works for everyone involved.

I also wanted to let you guys know that both seibertron.com and tfmaster.com moved to an all-new server today. I think the move went extremely well and that everything seems to be working great. I also moved the tfmaster.com database to a separate server which should help with the move later this month.

I will keep in touch with you guys to let you know how things are progressing.

Ryan

I will write a script that will match up your accounts on both sites. It will help immensely if you guys have the same email address for your accounts ... that's probably the unique identifier that I will use to merge your accounts.

I will probably also devise a way to let users merge duplicate accounts as well.

As for duplicate usernames, if someone has your username on Seibertron and it's not you, the usernames on Seibertron will take priority. I'll come up with some prefix that duplicate usernames will have from Transtopia.

I would strongly recommend that all of you register on Seibertron first to make sure you reserve your username. Please use the same email address that you are using here. If your email address is out-of-date on Transtopia, please update it here and then register whatever your new or current email address is on Seibertron.com.
