i have been gone from the boards for about two months,and not by choice or botcon.at that time my wife had to be rushed to the emergency room,and we were afraid we would lose the baby(american hospitals suck..arrived at 10pm,saw the dr at 1230am,left around 430am).after about 2 weeks of worrying things got back to normal until i tried to get back on the old computer.......a virus(or something to that effect)demolished a file that was crucial to my operating system and prevented me from even booting up the pc.but i have a new tower,the baby is healthy,and all is right with the world again.

Your virus sounds very similar to the one I had - one day I tried to start my laptop and it got partway through the bootup cycle, then reset itself over and over again. I had to get a new hard drive, and I lost a hell of a lot of stuff.
