Well, it looks like we all went back to December 11th, and we all lost our avatars and such. Even if there was post warning me about this change, it would have been deleted.

So, is this permanent?

No but seriously it's all apart of life here at Seibertron. Unless we occasionally lose posts or the board resets then things are not normal.

There was me thinking this was a thread about when it seemed like the whole site itself disappeared last night...

I was logging in to check to see if I peed anyone off (which I don't mean to just have very black and white opinions with certain topics, sorry comes with having Aspergers) with comments I made in the Jamie Lynn Spears pregnant thread and I see the whole thing is missing. I seriously thought I really did something bad. But stuff happens you can't prevent, software screws up so what can you do.

Dang it! Sounds like I missed out on some fun comments!

So, I didn't break anything? I was gettin worried for a second...

Lost a few topics I liked though, so I'm not too happy about the reset.

I am trying to find out as well..
I know the other board configuration had issues so I think what may have happened is it was reset a bit to the last backup.

*grumble*
It also looks like my post count went backwards a bit too, at last count I'm pretty darned sure it was a little over 100.
Did anyone else notice that ?
Of course the avatar and profile information keeps getting wiped out so it's easy to fix the avatar but I'm going to wait a while to fill in anymore profile information.

Until things get settled with the new phpbb configuration and the bugs are removed some of you will have to deal with things until they are smoothed out.

To be honest im gutted i lost ver ten days of posts from my minicon advent calender thread id bee updating on a daily basis.

A lot of work had gone into tat and if d have know in advance i could have backed up the posts to repost them

I made some REALLY long posts ... here in General Discussion, that could potentially help people. I hope they are recovered, because I'm totally not typing all of that again.

No problem really, my post was not meant as a complaint.
I understand the upgrade process and the bugs that need to be fixed so I'm pretty much cool with it.
I've just not had my caffeine fix yet so I'm a little grumbly.
I like the new format and I'm sure it will get better.

So why not backup everything before messing with it? Lock the boards, backup everything, then mess with them. <-- Edit: that isn't the smiley I'm trying to use... wtf, lol, etc.

And I thought we were already using phpBB 3...? How exactly did everything get pushed back several days? I hope it wasn't just because of the color scheme being changed.

Well, in any case, I hope things go more smoothly from here out.

Ah the memories.

From what I understand there were tons of glitches that needed to be fixed.

You guys need to stop bitching over lost posts and just be glad that we have a board to post on.

When a board crashes no.

On the positive side the board is moving faster now (at least to me it is).

You guys are lucky and we just lost a week..
When I first signed up in 02 there was a board crash that wiped my original account (and a bunch of other accounts as well) out..
Then in Feb 04 there was a big crash.
Then this past year in Jan there was another big crash (that one wiped out thousands of posts and the forums had to re-start again as all of them were empty).

This one was minor compared to all of those.

Ditto-- that stuff was damn good, though I think I got all the links. Could you PM me that one you said you got from another site?
