NBC aired a 15-second spot for the new "Knight Rider" pilot/TV movie during Sunday Night Football, and you can watch it using the player below. The clip features the new KITT and its new voice - Will Artnett.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJzqZiiM1BESo far it looks worth a shot.

I can deal with the voice.
I greatly dislike the car.
Critics are right, NBC clings to the past way too much and this is why they fail. (Bionic Woman crashed and burned, Knight Rider will do the same. Life (one of their best shows ever, wasn't promoted enough and it's sinking like the Titanic) will die a slow death too.
I might not watch anything on ABC or the other networks, but I will admit when they're doing something right.
NBC needs a good swift kick in the pocketbook to get things moving.

OK, so why on Earth a Ford? Would it be too much to ask for a Camaro? They could even mod the Camaro's body to resemble an updated Firebird, that'd be sweet!
But no...we get a Mustang.
The voiceover seems convincing enough to be KITT, even if it does sound has if KITT has had a few too many cigarettes.
No...I think I'll have to pass on this one.

I don't get people issue with k.i.t.t. being a ford. The car is always modeled on an existing car platform and since there is no pontiac sports car equivalant and the camaro is not in production yet this is what they have to work with. They could mock up a camaro but to do that they would have to build a whole body and put it onto another chassis, much liek they had to do with bumblebee. Using a production car means only modifying hoods, tail sections and interior. A lot less expensive.
Besides the Mustangs is a badss car in its own right.

Could be interesting. I'm not a fan of where they stuck the LED sensors in the hood, just doesn't look right to me.

How about wasn't promoted at all. I didn't hear anything about the show until after it debuted.

Ouch, seriously? See, I'm a faithful NBC watcher so I saw all the ads for Life and waited with baited breath for it to hit the airwaves (one of my favorite shows EVAR.) so I had seen one or two commercials before the airing of the pilot and it never registered with me until after the show went off the air (strike hiatus) that NBC really hadn't been promoting it. Which is a cryin' shame.
I'm filled with giddy goofiness about American Gladiators coming back to NBC (yet again, I say they clutch to the past too much) but NBC is slowly losing my interest as time goes on. I could see a time when I won't even turn the network on anymore.

will arnett is the man. he has one of the coolest voices ever, so thats one thing this show has going for it. but after seeing how underwhelming (boring) bionic woman is, i don't have high hopes for this show. as for the car, i think it looks cool. (barricade got a new job, i guess)

IMO Will Arnett sounds great - and his voice (at least to me) actually seems to fit the new car.
Having said that, though - the whole "Mike" thing bugs me. Not a big fan of the whole "son of the original hero" schtick; it's been done to death. For that matter, the "bad guys want the supercar for their own evil purposes" gag has also been done, several times, ON the original series, no less.
So anyone out there who's clinging tightly to their nostalgia to the point of poo-pooing any attempt to revitalize the property shouldn't be worried, 'cuz I don't see this thing lasting long based on that premise. I love the new car myself, but I can't shake the impression that this new version of "Knight Rider" will go the same path of "Knight Rider 2000", "Knight Rider 2010", and "Team Knight Rider". If NBC wants to bring back "Knight Rider", they need to do something far more radical than retread old concepts and just slap in a new set of wheels.

Correction: They need to do that with all of their programming.
NBC is one of the most backwards thinking networks out there.

I don't know if it is because it's a Ford. And I understand that Pontiac has no equivalant, but for me it could just be the old schoolness in some of us. We grew up watching a black Pontiac Trans-Am and thats the K.I.T.T. we know and love, sometimes it's hard to let go and accept new things. At first I was dissapointed that Bumblebee was going to be a Camaro and not a VW Bug, but now I think it was a great move.

You' just won a spot on my "Not sucky People" list.
I love Ford, Mustangs, and most cars in general, and although KITT is finally getting an upgrade, I can't see it as KITT. As KARR, heck yes.
I'm just old-school, it's not KITT if it ain't a Pontiac.
I did see a fan pic of kit as a Solstice, and it was whoop-ass.
